Light fizzy fluffy head covering surprising for the abv, super dark molasses like no light coming through beer.
Nose, awwww, so good, dreamy, full of bourbon, vanilla, oak barrel, toasted oak, sweet caramel malts, toffee, light cocoa, chewy malts, barleywine-esque, brandy soaked raisins, plums, hint of booze, light bready malts, bread pudding, hint of booze, light pie like spices. Oh man so good.
Taste sweet! Sugar, fruit flavors, fig, date, raisin, etc in brandy and syrup. Chewy malts, darker malts, plenty of caramel, toffee, etc. Booze is heavy and hot, almost tingly, with hint of esters even. Light cocoa, vanilla, tons of bourbon, oak, toasty, etc. Cognac like raisin and fig, etc. Finish is pure awesomeness, vanilla, bourbon, light booze, brandy soaked raisin, light cocoa, caramel, toffee, hint of bitterness, toasty oak. I think I'll be sipping this for hours, not because it's boozy or syrupy, but because its so delicious and I just want to prolong the greatness as long as I can.
Mouth is velvet smooth with a heavy mouth, plenty of booze, decent carb for the overall beer.
Overall, gluuuggggmmmggggrrraahhhh!!! Just friggen delicious, I can almost feel it melting in my mouth as I go even. Damn so good! This is close to a desert island beer.

Poured into a Due South Brewing Co. Snifter. Anniversary 2012, Bottle Number 10714
A- Pours a murky medium brown color with a 1/4 inch dark tan head that's short-lived and quickly dies down to a thin ring around the edge of the glass and minimal surface foam. Just about no lacing.
S- Rich chocolate, caramel and barrel notes with some booze fume. Also some raisin.
T- Heavy raisin flavor that's very sweet with chocolate and caramel undertones. It's almost like the flavor is the inverse of the aroma. Also has some sherry, vanilla and brown sugar notes. The oak isn't as apparent as it is in the aroma, but it's still there. Alcohol is insanely well-hidden for such a mammoth of a beer. Slightly nutty.
M- Very sticky, sytupy and somewhat sharp from the alcohol. Barely any carbonation and a full body.
O- The flavor of this beer is phenomenal. If you're a fan of Old Ales, high gravity beers or both, this is a must-have.
