Pale yellow, no head.
Funk, sour grape, lemon.
Bread, lotsa sour, oak, lime, cherry, complex, very good.
Medium carbonation - perfect for beer, abv tastes about right if not slightly less.
Very tasty beer. One of the best Bruery beers I've had..

Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle.
The beer pours a yellow color with no real head. The aroma has a ton of tart wheat in it, as well as some acidic notes like you get from chardonnay. The flavor is similar. I get a ton of tart wheat and apple notes, as well as some oak and white wine grape notes. The tartness level is very high and really makes my mouth pucker. Medium mouthfeel and very little, if any, carbonation. A very nice sour beer.

Tulip glass.
A: Pours a honey yellow, not unlike Chardonnay, with some sloppy white head that disappears to a ring almost immediately. Looks still.
S: Burst of sour tropical fruit and lemon, lots of sour, a little funk, and very subtle vanilla/oak which comes out more as it warms. Decidedly vinous.
T: Lemon and some tropical fruits, a little white grape. Very sour, like sour apple Warheads level sour, that's even on the palate through the long finish. The sourness seems to tame as it warms, and more of the oak shows through. Near cellar temperature is a definite improvement over the beer right out of the fridge.
M: Medium body and light carbonation.
O: Tasty, and on the higher end of the sour spectrum. A nice substitute for a white wine. The alcohol is not at all noticeable.

Big thanks goes out to StayWhatYouAre2 for sharing this one at his own pre-marriage tasting! Thanks Alex! Served from bottle into a Boulevard tulip. Poured neon yellow with a minimal white head that subsided to none quickly. There was no lacing evident throughout the glass. The aroma was comprised of sweet malt, funk, citrus, citrus rine, and tart. The flavor was of sweet malt, funk, citrus, citrus rine, tart, and sour. It had a light feel on the palate with medium-high carbonation. Overall this was a pretty good brew. I was really surprised at what I found upon first inspection of this one. This was definitely the most our brew that we tasted that evening by far. It had a nice balance to it though which made it quite easy to drink and rather enjoyable. I would have no problem at all crushing a full bottle of this one. Definitely worth seeking out if you have not had it before.

Had at our June tasting and had to review this brew because it hurt my taste buds feelings.
Pours a hazy pear juice color with absolutely no head.
The aroma on this beer is atrocious! Stings the nostrils and not in a good way like Sex Panther. The acidity of this beer dominates the aroma to the point that I can't smell any of the subtle aromas. Fail.
The taste pics up the slack a tad from where the nose dropped the ball but it's still below avg. Extreme white grape sourness with equal parts lemon juice. My jaw will be clenched for the rest of the night.
The mouthfeel is light and crisp and about the only category this beer got right.
Overall this beer makes being an REserve Series member not worth it. This beer reminds me of a quote by Ron Jeremy. It can "suck my dick."

Bottle split with JLindros. Reviewed from notes.
A - No head whatsoever here. I mean noting. This pours like a glass of white wine, which while good is not really what I expect. This looks pretty good though.
S - Bursts of grains and Chardonnay. Oak barrels, white grapes. Just insanely enticing bread and vinous.
T - Wow. So much great dry white wine and sourness. Sour white grapes and oak. Some light bread/yeast. Very, very much like a a drie fountene.
M - Flat, absolutely no carbonation at all. Drinks like a white wine. A sour white wine. Very dry and delicious.
O - Over wow, this is a super sour glass of white wine and oak. This is really, really tasty. Wish we had another bottle of this.

Bottle to Bruery tulip.
A - Bright pale yellow colour with a few clear bubbles from the pour but otherwise no head at all. Appears to be very lightly carbonated.
S - Sour/tartness up front with some funk. Some lighter oak notes are present (didn't think this one was oak aged though?) but not much else going on. Can't pick out the grapes.
T - A big sour/tartness up front with some funk. Grapes shows up in the middle and add a nice element of flavour to the beer.
M - Light to medium body with very low carbonation. The low carbonation suits the beer very well.
O - An interesting beer.

Poured into a tulip.
2.5 A: Mildly hazed urine yellow color. No head forms and there doesn't appear to be much, if any, carbonation at all.
3.5 S: This definitely has some strong Chardonnay notes. Vinous tart grape, strong melon, vanilla, oak, and plenty of acetic acid. This is both quite tart and almost as sour for those who can relate to my usage of the words. Also some earthy notes with rotting wood, apple orchard, and some musty basement. Not a whole lot of complexity, but good enough.
3.5 T: I kept waffling between a 3.0 and a 3.5 for this. It's got some good qualities, but also some bad ones with lack of complexity being foremost. Acetic acid sourness. Tart white grape, vinous, melon, vanilla, and oak. The sourness dominates though. It totally overpowers the fruit and funk. Also lots of tangy lactic acid. This is quite tangy.
3.0 M: Medium body. Almost no carbonation. I'm okay with this not having carbonation as it kinda tastes like wine anyway, but it would be much better with some. It would help cut the sourness anyway.
3.0 D: 3.0 here to make up for the 3.5 I gave the taste. It's not a bad beer, but it lacks depth while overemphasizing the sour.

Pours clear gold with no head and only a few bubbles despite an aggressive pour.
Smells like chardonnay. Lots of tart white grape along with oak and some mustiness.
May have accidentally opened a bottle of wine. Taste like a slightly tarter chardonnay. Lots of light grape tartness with oak. A bit more sour than the nose lets on. Finishes dry and again chardonnay like.
Fairly light mouthfeel with low carbonation levels.
Bottom line: If you are a wine person especially dry whites, this will be right up your alley. I enjoyed it, but would have preferred a bit heavier carbonation. Curious to see what some age does to my other bottle.

Been fortunate enough to try this on numerous occasions since its release earlier this year, and I must say it's already developing quite nicely. The only constant across the bottles I've sampled is that it's ugly: zero head and a translucent, murky body. Must...subtract...beergeek...points...
The earlier bottles had sulfuric qualities to the nose, but thankfully that's mostly gone now in favor juicy chardonnay grapes and must. Taste is funky, tart, and juicy; plenty of sourness and acidity that some may find offensive, although I love it. No sign of the 9%(!) alcohol.
Oui Oui has already improved significantly since its release and is drinking pretty well right now. I'm excited to see how it will change in the next 12 months.

This is why I am a RS member, so I can try goodies like this. Bottle opened on 5.15.12.
A - Pours a slightly hazy, sorry to say, urine yellow with a few white large bubbles that are gone instantly.
S - Tart and white wine-like. Grapes for sure.
T - A very tart chardonnay. Super sour.
D - Low carbonation and a thin body.
O - The chardonnay grapes are there, but this one is super sour. Difficult to pick up much else.

Bottle into Bruery tulip.
A - Pours like a Chardonnay, golden yellow and flat.
S - Smells like a Chardonnay. Fruity sweetness, light tannins, oak, light acidity. The grape notes are really nice in this beer as well.
T - Tastes like a Chardonnay. More fruits and grapes then the nose with less acidity and tannins. If you like wine, you'll like this beer. Alcohol is pretty well-hidden for 9%. Finish is sweet grapes and like oak.
M - Medium, flat, dry finish.
O - I really liked this beer, even with it being flat as a pancake. Being a wine-lover, I think it helped me make amends with it being still and I was still able to appreciate the beer for what it is.

750 ml bottle into a matching bruery snifter. The brew appears a pale straw color that is fairly clear with a few bubbles during a vigorous pour that doesnt leave any head. A hearty swirl doesn't release any bubbles to the surface.
The smell is bold with white grape notes overtop an earthy lactic character. The vinous notes are bright and lively which is an enjoyable inclusion that mingles well with the lemony scent that is also evident. As it warms up, it gets a bit cheesy and funky across the back.
The taste is quite tart with wild elements that are a bit earthy. The white grape inclusion is also prominent which delivers a nice transition from grape juice into lemony tartness. It gets progressively more sharp with sour qualities as it warms up. The lactic quality mixes with a mild earthen flavor that accents a seemingly strong flavor of grape skins, not just the expected juicy element.
This is a light bodied brew with too low of a level of carbonation. You can't quite call it flat because it does have a very mild touch of carbonation but having some more life to it would have made the flavors pop more and would have increased the overall drinkability quite a bit for me. I enjoy beer with grape inclusion so I was happy to give this one a try. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to what I was hoping. I would certainly drink it again if it had a bit more carbonation but as-is im not totally digging it. After the fact thought: I didnt realize how high the alcohol is in this. To this brew's credit the abv is hidden quite well.

Bottle into my Bruery tulip.
Um. The bottle says “brewed with Chardonnay grapes;” this looks like actual white wine. A hard pour results in absolutely no head, the liquid’s dandelion-yellow and almost perfectly clear — this is basically wine.
The similarities continue in the nose, but this has gone from smelling like Chardonnay to smelling like a box of Franzia white. There’s a nice, vinous oakiness, but in front of it is an acidic white grape character with a little bite. To the beer’s credit, it does get a little better as it warms, as sweet green apple, white grapes and a touch of white vinegar emerge.
Whoa, and that’s why. I wasn’t aware this was even a wild ale, but this guy is SOUR — Bruery, you need to warn me of these things. Chardonnay grapes are the main contributor, lending notes of green apple with white vinegar and just a touch of barnyard funk. This is what I imagine wine-makers are trying to avoid, but it works here.
As expected, carbonation is very nearly not there. The body’s a heavy medium, and the tartness surprises with its strength every time I swallow. Nice here is that the alcohol is very nearly nonexistent.
Oui Oui is a strange hybrid, more wine than beer, and sour enough to wake a person up from a coma. Not bad, but definitely both intense and uncomplicated enough that one glass is quite enough.

Appearance: Clear straw-yellow with small white head mostly consisting of large bubbles that quickly disappeared.
Smell: Barnyard funk and tart grape notes.
Taste: Mild barnyard funk and white wine notes come through in the taste. The beer finishes with the white wine notes. The finish is dry and crisp. The beer is more on the tart side of the spectrum rather than on the sour side. Tasty.
Mouthfeel: Fairly light-bodied with low carbonation.
Overall: The taste profile is good but a little more carbonation might have added some sparkle.

Poured very aggressively, and no head whatsoever...kinda disappointing. Pours a hazy, golden, straw-like color with just a hint of orange. Scent makes up for the still, wine-like appearance. Aroma is VERY similar to a fine chardonnay with just a bit more funk to it. Tons of white grape aroma and sharp, acidic notes. A bit of stinky cheese as well. Lovin the nose on this...Taste is initially heavy in the grape department. Sweet, red, white, and green grapes all mashed together with some sour grapes as well. The more sips I take, the more it drinks like a chardonnay than a wild ale. I could see white wine lovers falling head over heels for this beer...not nearly as sour as I was expecting, or as the nose implied. VERY complex...best use of grapes I've experienced in a beer. Mouthfeel is medium bodied...no carbonation, but it fits with the taste, as it definitely drinks like a wine (no disrespect to Tomme, but he could learn from this one). Slightly acidic that leaves the teeth and gums tingly. Drinkability is high...ABV slightly detected in the throat...a tad warming. Overall, I'm not a big fan of wine, but I really enjoy this beer. The lack of carbonation seems to work with this one.

750mL into tulip
A- Comes out of the bottle pretty still even after a vigorous pour. It bubbles at best but settles almost instantly. Looks like a Chard but I'm pretty sure they called it Oui Oui because it looks just like piss.
S- It has a bright smell. Heavy notes of white grapes, obviously. Also some tart apples and lemon. Nothing too funky going on here. Smells like wine.
T- Really tart up front. Nice and sour. Has the typical tart fruit flavors, green apples, lemon, sour grapes. The chardonnay grapes really shine through, definitely impressed by this.
M- It definitely lacks carbonation, there is the slightest amount evident. I'm not sure if this was intended to be like that, but I don't think it hurts it at all. It complements the taste perfectly.
O- I thought this was excellent. This was the first time I have had a beer made with wine grapes so I have nothing to compare it to, but I think this was an excellent representation of what they were going for. I'm not a wine drinker, but this is something I could sip on all day.

4/3/12 the bruery vitis series: Oui Oui
Got two bottles of this being in the RS this year. 750ml bottle poured into my Bruery tulip because I can.
a - Pours a murky, deep yellow color with a few white bubbles and light to mdoerate carbonation evident. Poured this one aggressively like I did the Mother Funker bottle I had last night, but head was the same. Hoping carbonation issues don't become a problem this year.
s - Smells of chardonnay, sour grapes, tart citrus and fruit, oak, funk, and some earthy notes. Lots of acidity and a ton of chardonnay. Funk is very light. Nice but not a ton of funk.
t - Taste again is dominated by chardonnay. Also some sour grapes, oak, acidic notes, hay, and earthy notes. More sour grapes here then in the nose, but the chardonnay dominates once again. Less funk then the nose.
m - Light body and low carbonation, almost non-existent. Lack of carbonation hurts it a bit. Acidic body.
o - Overall a nice beer, but the chardonnay is really dominating, especially in the nose, and the lack of carbonation hurts it as well. Some nice sour grape in the taste, would have liked more in the nose, and more funk all around. Will sit on my other bottle for a bit and see what happens. Much much better then Mother Funker, but not nearly as good as Filmishmish in terms of this years sours.

Technically a milestone review for me. This is the very first bottle I've opened from my RS membership. 7-8 oz. poured into a stemless red wine glass on March 31st, 2012.
A - Damn, this sure does look like your typical white wine. Light gold coloring with orange hues akin to apple juice. I've seen beer with little carbonation, but this is the first time I've seen zero trace of head from a pour. Alas, no lacing or retention.
S - Enormous, prominent white grapeskins. Underlying lemon peel, floral, and oak barrel notes.
T - Definitely aligned with the aromas. Moderate puckering sourness, good acidic fruit juice, light vinegar, further grapes, and green apple-like tartness. I like what's here, but it's an instance where lack of depth bothers me.
M - Very low carbonation, but very fitting. Doubly-dry finish with an astringent fruit aftertaste.
D - Oui oui very well may breach the point where I would question whether you'd want to just buy an actual (and decent) bottle of Chardonnay. However, I appreciate the added sourness and fruit that this offers over its wine counterparts. I just don't feel that impressed by it.

No head, not even bubbles from the pour, wow, more like a wine than a beer, slight hazy golden lemonade yellow colored.
nose great sour lambic like, tart bright fruit, light musty vinous chardonnay like aroma, great sour malt, just like a great lambic.
Taste had a great tart flavor, sour malts, light lemon, tart fruit flavors, again a nice lambic, light bready malts, quite dry, a bit of a light chardonnay vinous flavor, hint of vanilla oak, sour white grapes, hint of tart berry, juicy but just a bit lighter than a drie fonteinen. There is a nice acidity too that doesn't overpower. Finish is tart, phlemmy, light sour fruit and little bready malt. Abv is well hidden, wish I could drink tons of this.
Mouth is lighter bodied, acidic, lack of carbonation to refresh the palate hurts a bit.
Overall other than the lack of carbonation this is an awesome beer, great tartness, light chardonnay, bit of bready malts, drinkable other than carb, just great. Wish I had more of these.

Thanks to ehammond1 for sharing this one at the post Bruery Reserve Society party bottle share!
Pours a murky light yellow with no head and no lace. Smell is of grains and some sour, tart, and funky fruity aromas. Taste is very much the same with a somewhat acidic aftertaste. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good wild ale that is tasty and easy to drink.

Served in a Bruery tulip.
Pours nearly still with just a few bubbles on top of the beer. Light golden and a bit hazy. The nose has loads of Chardonnay and a bit of oak and light acidity. Favor has quite a bit of grape character as well. Light body and low carbonation with a nice, crisp acidity. The lack of carbonation really hurts here, though the rest of the beer is quite nice.

750 mL bottle shipped out with my other RS beers by JRSD. It was poured into my Duvel tulip.
Oui Oui pours a crystal clear straw yellow. There's barely even a suggestion of head formation. The nose is redolent of white grapes, presenting a strong vinous character. The aromas of oak, and earthy, cheesy funk round things out. As with the smell, the taste of the grape and wine aspect of the beer is right out in front. The brett influence seems to overtake the oak as the secondary flavor. When I describe it as cheesy, for me that's not a good thing, as this is one of the less enjoyable brett flavor profiles I've encountered. The oak does add a nice subtle touch though. The body is as nice and lean as I like in a wild beer, but the carbonation's not nearly as bubbly and lively as usually works for the style. Were it a bit more active, I think the mouthfeel would come across as just a little more light. Oui Oui is the fourth sour from The Bruery I've had in the past week, and probably the most underhwhelming, but it was still an interesting brew.

Epic Bruery sour/wild tasting, 3/4/2012
Pours out looking just like chardonnay. Straw yellow, no head, just a few fine bubbles. Aroma mixes wine, malt and funk. As it warms a buttery note akin to malolactic starts to show up. Vinegary with a bit of acetone and some grape. Low sourness, medium body, low carbonation.
