750ml received in a trade last year. Into a snifter.
A: Light straw-colored body, no head.
S. Old hay funk, mild tropical brett, piercing acetic sourness, lactic notes.
T. Very sour. Lots of vinegary acid, heavy lemon, lactic in the finish.
M. Flat, light-bodied.
O: Lack of carbonation and the overly heavy acetic character doom this one to a low rating.

I had really high hopes for this, as ive heard many people with respectable palates assert that this is the sourest beer of them all. the granddaddy. well, first of all, it isn't. second of all, its not very good and was probably discontinued for a reason. it pours a pale hazy yellow color, watery looking, with only a small layer of white fizz. the aroma burns my nose from the acid, and smells like little else but acid and a touch of lemon. the flavor is akin to salt and vinegar potato chips, with all the sour being concentrated on the tip of the tongue, not that whole mouth sour like some of the better examples of the style. there is some mild fruit, and a whole lot of malt vinegar, this beer is a real miss for me. its almost caustic in the mouth, burning my tongue and drying my teeth. there is very little redeeming about it really, aside from being a novelty. its not even that sour, its just a weird, sort of misdirected sour, and it just doesn't work, not even in small doses. good carbonation and a really light body, but this is not drinkable by any standard. overall a letdown for me for a variety of reasons, but chief among them is that I expect everything from the bruery to be amazingly good, and this is so pedestrian. not sure if there is much of this around anymore, but if you find it, skip it.

Thanks again GRG1313!
A - Yellow/gold with no head. A slight bit of murk, but pretty transparent.
S - Funk and some tartness. A hint of lemon. I don't get a ton of aroma from this.
T - Very sour with quite a bit of funkiness. Very acidic with lots of lemon, grapes, sour apple, and tangerine. Maybe a bit of pineapple. A hint of saltiness in the aftertaste. This is definitely sour, but not unbearably so. I didn't get a lot of vinegar like others have mentioned. Maybe it has mellowed out a bit, but I think this is an excellent sour.
M - Light bodied with medium carbonation. Very acidic.
Really enjoying this one. I couldn't drink a ton of it, but I'd certainly have it again. Went into it cautiously with some of the complaints on here, but I think this is an excellent sour.

Shared a 750ml bottle with RoninTK3. Poured into an Allagash tulip.
Appearance- Clear golden yellow with zero head and zero activity in the glass.
Smell- Lemon, white grapes, apple cider, yeasty must, mild oak. Quite pleasurable.
Taste- White wine (sauvignon blanc), pears, apples, sparkling grape juice, must, vanilla oakines, limestone. Quite acidic, but not as aggressive as past reviews.
Mouthfeel- Very light, not very carbonated, acidic, crisp.
Overall- Is this beer acidic? Yes. It is overly sour and aggressive? Not in my opinion. Polarizing reviews, but I do enjoy this one.
