I always buy any new Bruery beer as I find them. Their beers vacilate between good to excellent. I opened this beer to sip as I watched college football.

I shared this bottle with a friend. This beer was poured into snifter glasses.

The beer poured brown with some highlights of red in the coloring. I had a two finger head on the pour that came down to a very nice halo. This yielded some pretty good looking lacing.

Cuir smells rich. I could just smell this beer all day. I pick up the bourgon coming off the top. I even picked up some leathery smell.

At 16.5%, it isn't a surpise that I had alcohol heat in my mouth, then in the throat, and then the warming in my chest.

In the taste I picked up a lot of dark fruit (my friend identified figs). The bourbon qualities are very present. You can tasted the tobacco and vanilla coming out of the casks.

This was an excellent experience. I still smile in memory of the beer.

750ml served into snifter

A - Pours a very rich mahogany with PLENTY of carbonation. For such a big beer, I am shocked by the 2 fingers of tan foam. Almost too much carbonation...

S - Smells of dark fruits soaking in vanilla. A little bit of oak and maple. Very sweet smelling.

T- Starts off with dates covered in caramel. Very sweet and dessert-like. That fades into a brandy-like flavor with accompanying alcohol presence. Very strong and sweet beer. Although, quite enjoyable.

M - This is a very rich and thick beer. The carbonation helps this beer not be a choir to drink. Very smooth. The alcohol is definitely present.

O - This is a strong and flavorful dessert old ale. Quite sweet, but not so much that it's a challenge to drink. I'm going to dome this personally, but probably best to share it.

Bottle #5291: poured out as a hazy brown color, there was a really nice tan head on top. Light retention and minimal lacing. The smell actually had quite a bit of bourbon on the nose. There is some sweet malt and fruity notes on the nose. The taste at first was a little harsh, as you drink it the flavors get better. There is a subtle spicy vanilla flavor along with some juniper or pine notes. It's got plenty of sweetness with a healthy amount of booze. The mouthfeel of the beer is smooth, nicely carbonated ever after a few years of age. Overall this beer is pretty good, worth trying if you haven't already.
