Purchased at The Bruery Provisions in Orange, CA.
A: Cloudy yellow with a bubbly, white head. Decent lace and head retention.
S: Strange. Salty, peppery, yeasty, strong spice...whoa.
T: Salty, peppery, light wheat...different to say the least. What is this? One of the weirder beers I've tried.
M: Good carbonation. With all the strangeness, it's still quite good and unique.
O: First Gose. Very different but very intriguing.

Bomber into tasting glass.
A: Mildly Hazy Golden Straw Hue, Passes Most Light, White Head, Some Lacing
S: Sea Salt, Mild Hay
T: Mild Salt
M: Decent Carbonation, Light to Medium Bodied, Mildly Salty
Overall, this beer was literally flavorless other than the salt taste...worse gose I have ever had.

750mL bottle poured into taster - thanks to gcphilli
Pours a super pale straw color with a fizzy white head bubbling up and quickly fading out. Dissolves into a few spots of lacing on the glass.
Oddly funky and vegetal scents in the nose, punctuated by coriander, salt, straw and tartness. A strange combination of scents.
Salty and tart up front with notes of spice and coriander. Faint pear sweetness and soft straw malts. Funky, tart and salty throughout, finishing dry.
Lighter body, higher carbonation, crispy and lingering on the tongue. It might be because I just had the Tired Hands gose last week, but this was a little strange and difficult to drink.

A: Pours a clear pale straw yellow with a skyrocketing white head which settles to a cap leaving globs and strings of lace.
N: Earthy, funk, minerals, lemon citrus, wheaty yeast, fresh springtime grass/hay and spices,
T: Not too familiar with truffle salt, but this has a mineral salt and spicy intro followed by lemon verbena and floral/herbal notes. Citrus comes in along with grainy wheat and some mild funk.
M: Semi-moderate body and medium carbonation. Zesty and lively on the tongue. Finishes salty and spicy.
O: Very interesting and refreshing. A nice one for a warm day or paired with food.
NOTE: Just opened another bottle tonight (11/24/12) and this has gone infected with weird white powder in the neck (salt?), really "off" smell and taste. Drain poured this one. Perhaps it was only this bottle. Would be interested in what others are experiencing.

Big thanks to Number45forever for gifting this one! Poured from 750 to pokal glass:
One of the paler bodied beers I've ever seen with a huge, swelling, sticky latte-like white froth. Tons of steady beading.
Very earthy, a touch of bitter spice, a bit acidic, some vinegar character as well, I'm intrigued...
Nice mineral profile, more earthiness, some cider tart notes, like nothing I've tasted before. That vinegar quality is tied to the saltiness. I love beers that really challenge my palate and this one has it damn near stumped.
Nicely done.

The first mystery bottle at Jon's first annual Secret Beer Tasting! Format: beer is decanted by impartial host in another room, we try to guess style, ABV, brewery, beer name, year, & BA rating. We had no advance knowledge of bottles, breweries represented, styles, etc.
Light orange in color, decent white head, solid retention. Mildly tart aroma holds some yeast and funk. Now that I know the style, this has some serious 'splaining to do.
Taste is subtle and noticeably lacking of salt. Mostly a bland, boring wheat base, ending with a distinct yeasty bitterness at the end. Very light and mild overall; zero booze presence. Highly drinkable, though it definitely misses on the style.
When trying to categorize this one, I struggled between Saison & Berliner, eventually settling on Saison because 1) I couldn't detect any lactic acid, and 2) bitter yeast at the end means it's probably a very mild saison. Turns out it was a poorly-crafted gose that missed the style marks. And somehow, Cosmic "13.5% wheatwine" Evan ended up winning this entire competition despite his initial guess being about the furthest off it could possibly be. Good times!
