750ml bottle poured into a stemless wine glass.
The beer pours a hazy lemon color, very soft yellow, cloudy in texture with a 2 finger high, white head, very fizzy that dissipates immediately and leaves no film or lace. The aroma is of tart, lightly acidic citrus and soft floral tones with a nice punch of wheat and light funk. Similar on the tongue, bright, light citrus with subtle wildflower, tart, funk berry fruit, lots of wheaty grain and light barnyard. The body is light, fizzy yet almost juicy, smooth with a very light and easy finish.
Verdict: A quintessential Berliner Weissbier, the flavors are light, yet impactful and it has a great refreshing finish. The simplicity of this style is executed wonderfully, a really nice beer to share with friends.

Bottled what appears to be 3/25/13 and is apparently bottle #870 of 871. Poured into a tulip glass.
A - Pours a lovely golden straw color with 2-3 fingers of white white head that quickly dissipates.
S - A lot of grassy, earthy, bretty, funky tartness going on here. Nothing is all that overbearing though. Very nice.
T - Much of the same of the smells are present in the taste. Finishes with a little fruity sweetness. And very dry.
M - Lots of carbonation and fairly light mouthfeel. But not too light. Very nice.
O - This is crazy enjoyable. And at 3.1 you could drink it all day long. Throughout the whole bottle it doesn't get cloying at all and is super drinkable all the way through. 9/10 would buy again - especially at the price.

750 mL bottle poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Hazy golden yellow. Big white head, but doesn't last at all. Just a thin collar.
Smell - Extremely lactic. Acidic and grainy. Simple nose, but to be expected.
Taste - Pretty tart. Lactic sourness. Wheaty and grainy. Lemony sourness.
Mouthfeel - Very drinkable. I like that it isn't that sour. Medium carbonation.
Overall - These straight berliners suffer from simplicity, but this is an excellent example of the style.

The beer has a golden yellow color.
The aroam has some sweet lemon and citrus, tartness, and some funk.
The flavor is really tart and lemony with some wheat on the backbone.
The body is quite light. It really does pack tons of sourness for such a low ABV.
This is a truly refreshing beer. It's easy drinking and depending on the price, could be cheaper than Professor Fritz 1809. I prefer that beer, but for a Bruey beer, if you can find the right price. I recommend this.

750ml, spring 2013
The Bruery tulip
A: Completely cloudy faded yellow color. Lots of carbonation streaming up the sides of glass. Thin layer of bright white tight bubbled head.
S: Definitely getting some tart acidic notes on the nose. Grainy hop aromas and wheat hints. Lactic character.
T: Nice tartness up front. Prickle right on tip of tongue. Not quite sour. Mid palate that wheat character comes in. Soft yogurt like lactic note. Grainy flavors. Finish is crisp dry and refreshing. Nice Berliner for sure.
M: Light leading to medium bodied. High carbonation.

22 oz bottle poured into a goblet
A- A nice hazy golden straw color with a two finger white head.
S- Sour lemons, wheat, some cloves, slightly earthy.
T- Tart lemons, Granny Smith apples, some wheat, lactic acid in the finish.
M- Smooth, crisp, light body, high carbonation.
O- This is a nice beer and very easy to drink. The only issue I have with this beer, and it is a small issue, is the amount of lactic acid in the finish. I feel this is a great example of a beer with low alcohol and nice big flavor. I can't wait to have this again!

Huge disappointment. Really expected more but was letdown. Pours like yellow fizzy swill from a can, no head whatsoever.
Smells of tartness and granny smith apples, maybe a hair of pilsner malt.
Taste is pretty straight, tart tang and some back end grains with a bit of granny smith.
Way to much carbonation, which was especially surprisingly considering I could get any head with my pour. So much so I swirled some of it out
Overall, a big let down. Would grab New Glarus or bells Berliner before this.
