Poured a lightly hazy light yellow color with a thin white head that subsided quickly

Smell is cardboard, probably an old bottle, with citric acid like lemonyness and a clean soft wheat accent.

The taste has more of the oxidized cardboard with a nice sourness. Crisp carbonation and the soft wheat flavors go very well with the sour finish to lend it a lemonade like quality.

The mouthfeel is crisp and clean with a smooth body from the wheat.

Overall I would love to try a fresher version but for a rare style I think this is a good example.

The beer has a golden yellow color.

The aroam has some sweet lemon and citrus, tartness, and some funk.

The flavor is really tart and lemony with some wheat on the backbone.

The body is quite light. It really does pack tons of sourness for such a low ABV.

This is a truly refreshing beer. It's easy drinking and depending on the price, could be cheaper than Professor Fritz 1809. I prefer that beer, but for a Bruey beer, if you can find the right price. I recommend this.

The Bruery tulip

A: Completely cloudy faded yellow color. Lots of carbonation streaming up the sides of glass. Thin layer of bright white tight bubbled head.

S: Definitely getting some tart acidic notes on the nose. Grainy hop aromas and wheat hints. Lactic character.

T: Nice tartness up front. Prickle right on tip of tongue. Not quite sour. Mid palate that wheat character comes in. Soft yogurt like lactic note. Grainy flavors. Finish is crisp dry and refreshing. Nice Berliner for sure.

M: Light leading to medium bodied. High carbonation.

22 oz bottle poured into a goblet

A- A nice hazy golden straw color with a two finger white head.

S- Sour lemons, wheat, some cloves, slightly earthy.

T- Tart lemons, Granny Smith apples, some wheat, lactic acid in the finish.

M- Smooth, crisp, light body, high carbonation.

O- This is a nice beer and very easy to drink. The only issue I have with this beer, and it is a small issue, is the amount of lactic acid in the finish. I feel this is a great example of a beer with low alcohol and nice big flavor. I can't wait to have this again!

Huge disappointment. Really expected more but was letdown. Pours like yellow fizzy swill from a can, no head whatsoever.

Smells of tartness and granny smith apples, maybe a hair of pilsner malt.

Taste is pretty straight, tart tang and some back end grains with a bit of granny smith.

Way to much carbonation, which was especially surprisingly considering I could get any head with my pour. So much so I swirled some of it out

Overall, a big let down. Would grab New Glarus or bells Berliner before this.

Big thanks to cocoapuph for sending me a few of these, as well as a few other Berliners! Hottenroth comes out looking pale like Kristin Stewart; pale-straw with light, yellow tints at the edges. The beer cloudy as hell - so cloudy, in fact, that it's 100% opaque... Strange to see for such a light-hued brew. The white head fizzles down quickly, but surprisingly lasts as a two millimeter thick skin for quite a while.

Very soft aroma with quite a bit of stuff going on for such a light brew; lemon zest, dry fabric, light barnyard funk, earth and dirt, weedy hops, grass, and a mild, zesty tartness that rushes through the entire profile. Smells quite nice for a Berliner. I would like to appreciate a bit more tart fruit, but the heavily hopped aspect is certainly a nice change of pace.

Hottenroth is lightly hoppy and grassy up front; once again, a different take than many Berliners, given the higher-than-normal hop presence, but it's somewhat compelling and pretty damn tasty. A dry, mustiness floats over everything as a light tartness slowly rambles in about midway through; lemon zest, fresh apples and apple skins, and a big grainy and wheat presence in the background.

The Brett is noticeable at first and only gets more powerful with time; wet wood, mild horseblanket, and a damp, cork and cellar-like funk that plays well, hand-in-hand with the lemon tartness. Lightly acidic towards the end, but it doesn't even come close to something that would burn your stomach. Dry, zesty, crisp finish; light-bodied and highly carbonated.

Very, very nice Berliner. Super refreshing and insanely drinkable, but I guess that's pretty expected for the style. A little different than many Berliners in terms of the higher hoppage, but it's not enough to inject unwanted bitterness or distract from the nice, zesty fruits and soft wheat flavors. Very well executed, thanks again to cocoapuph for this. I might be asking him for more pretty soon!

750mL into a saison glass. Pours a slightly hazy pale yellow w/ a light fizzy head that settles to a thin collar. Lively carbonation rises from the bottom of the glass.

Aroma is vaguely reminiscent of a hefeweizen: bready, yeasty, but with sharp lemony zing. There's a clear tartness and acidity on the nose almost like a dry white wine.

Taste is tart and almost vinous up front with a much grainier, more biscuity finish. This is almost two beers in one, and I prefer the first one. It starts out almost tantalizingly sour, like lemonade, before switching to more of a crackery pale/wheat malt profile. The acidity scrubs the palate clean with every sip.

Mouthfeel is crisp and light, so refreshing.

Overall a really great, refreshing summer beer. I can't stop drinking this, and I'm not taking little sips, I'm taking full gulps.

750ml bottle served in a Dogfish Head signature glass

Appearance: Pours straw yellow in color with 2 fingers of a white soapy head that dissipates quickly to a thin collar. Body is very hazy with some visible sediment.

Smell: Tart lemon, wheat, pineapple, and a bit of clove.

Taste: Sour lemon and citrus, lactic sourness, wheat, clove, and a slight red berry character.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied, soft mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Light/medium tartness that lingers after the finish.

Overall: One of the best Berliners I've had. Nice tartness without, but not mouthpuckeringly sour. Extremely refreshing and I would definitely seek this out again. The only drawback is the price and the fact that it's only sold in large format bottles. This would be a perfect beer to put in 6 packs.
