This whale of a brew begins with a huge grain bill, consisting of American 2-Row malted barley. Plenty of the finest American-grown hops are then introduced at every stage of the brewing process. Massive additions of hops in the boil kettle produce a smooth yet assertive finish. In a technique called hop-backing, the boiling wort is pumped over more fresh hops on its way to the fermenter - this lends huge hop flavor. Finally, the addition of whole cone hops into the conditioning tank imparts a hops-bursting-out-of-the-glass aroma, rounding out a complete hop sensory experience!

I am not usually a fan of IPA , this one may convert me.
No particular aroma. Pours a nice light orange amber body with a decent light beige head. Head retention is good and laces the glass accordingly. Taste is a mild citrus with a good bitter tang. Not as "medicinal" in the aftertaste as I've found in other IPA's.

Large white head along with good lacing over a hazy amber/gold body. Resinous aroma mixing with a bit of tropical fruit and citrus. Expected more of a bitter edge after reading the commercial description of all the hops used. Still a pleasant tasting offering, though, with a solid malt backbone. Mouthfeel is well rounded, medium bodied and decently carbonated.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Pale and slightly hazed light amber, with even touches of lemon straw color. Some hint of clarity, mostly cause of the light color. Head is big bright and bleach white. Simply and easily hitting four fingers of bubbly soapy white bright foam, but light retention and big soapy bubbled cling to match.
Aroma has a touch of whispy pine and somewhat floral perfume. Light but sticky sensing caramel to match and some spicy tones on the malt it seems as well making for quite a different angle.
Palate gives a neat profile. Light hinting fruit, somewhere between melon and orange, with a real spicy finish. Hinting more of a malt presence than explosive hop, mild caramel but with spicy herbs of hop on the finish. Some of the soft florals seem to catch on but get overpowered by a nice spicy hop tone.
Somewhat complex in the hop department, but nothing exotic or highly memorable. However, as an IPA it is without fault and gets the job done. Just a solid brew.

On tap. 16oz pour.
Amber color, very little head. No lacing.
Not much on the nose. Hint of citrus, maybe.
Juicy at first. Bitterness opens up after warming-mainly pine and resin.
Low carbonation. Mild aftertaste.
It's ok-ish. Would like to try at the source.

Pours a clear yellow golden color. A large frothy head retains well.
Nice aromas of juicy fruit with an emphasis on citrus. Notes of grapefruit, orange juice and lemon, with a hint of peach and tropical fruit. Classic IPA herbal aromas evoke grass, pine and bitterness.
Juicy citrus flavors, pithy and bright, are balanced with herbal spices and a solid West Coast IPA bitterness. Notes of grapefruit rind, orange pith, pine resin and grassy spices. The malt base is crisp and cracker like with a moderate sweetness. Yet it’s the bitterness that stands out, especially in the dry and resiny finish. Medium bodied, crisp and lively carbonated.
This was a nice West Coast style IPA that hit all the hallmarks of the style. My 2nd WC IPA in as many reviews. Are they making a comeback?

Got this in a growler from a group of friends who know nothing about IPA’s. Nothing special about this beer. Ok to drink if this is the only IPA served. Look and taste is ehhh at best.
