Early in the summer The Cherry Country delivers fresh picked Montmorency cherries from their orchard to our brewery. Our brewers immediately pack these tart red beauties into first and second use Kentucky bourbon casks before filling them with Enchanted, our open fermented Oud Bruin. Each autumn we blend three seasons from select barrels marrying fresh and mature cherry notes with gentle bourbon, oak, rich malt, and balancing acidity.

A red currant shaded opaque body, white webbing for a head. Big deep cherry leads the nose with bourbon mash, oak, barnyard funk, lacto, and a vanilla kiss. Sweet leaning taste with sweet cherry more than tart, though both present, enters into bourbon, black strap molasses, some caramel and vanilla accents, with lighter amount of oak and funk with a whisper of plum as it warms. A fun twist with the bourbon barrel. Feel is barrel driven compared to most kriek, boozier and heavier, but still tart and funky.

2016 vintage, 500 ml bottle poured into glass.

Wow. This beer explodes on the nose. Vanilla and cherry dominates with some oak and hints of bourbon. Smell lingers for days.

Appearance is ruddy brown, with gentle pour the beer has all kinds of ruby tones.

Taste is outstanding. Vanilla notes woven throughout the tart montmorency cherries and nice oak backbone. Tart but not overly sour, extremely dry. World Class. Nothing much like it really.

Can't say enough good things about the Block 15 barrel program lately. This might be better than the more popular Super Nebula variants. Need more!

375 mL bottle. Deep amber. A bit of reddish flecks. Deep caramel aroma. Deep cherry. Oak. Taste is strong oak and bitterness. Tart cherry. Bitter. Caramel malt. Medium body. Low carbonation. Heavy malt, oak, and a deep cherry flavor. I expected something fresher, I guess.
