I'm told there are 50 pounds of fresh marion berries per 7-barrel batch of this wheat beer. That sounds like a lot. But do the math and it's just three and one-half pounds per keg. The taste suggests that a few more berries couldn't hurt, but berry flavor does stand front and center and the queer purple hue to this otherwise hazed pale wheat beer has berry all over it. There's also a slight berry aroma.
Hop presence is modest and suds are light. Though this Oregon native beer doesn't elicit excitement, it is otherwise an enjoyable summer seasonal of casual appreciation.
