On tap at 15 tons taphouse the other day.
The beer pours an orange amber color with pretty good head retention and lacing. On the nose, this beer smells great, with considerable tropical fruit, noticeable dry citrus, and some light pine. This beer really smells terrific, which perhaps was part of the problem when i took my first sip. While the flavor profile replicated the nose to some extent, the tropical fruit really dominates in this beer, giving it a bit more sweetness and noticeable warmth from the high alcohol that I typically enjoy. As a result, the hops are bit muted, and there just wasn't enough hoppy bitterness to counter all the sweet tropical fruit in this beer. Alcohol is pretty well integrated into the flavor profile, though you can definitely tell you're drinking a 10% abv. beer.
A nice enough beer, but there are a lot of great IPA's and DIPA's in this part of the world, and I just don't feel like this stands out.
