Appearance: Slightly cloudy amber color with a moderate white head .
Smell: Pine trees and mild fruity aromas.
Taste:The pine and citrus fruit notes in the nose carry over to the taste but are fairly restrained. There's a moderate hop bitterness in the finish.
Mouth-feel: Fairly light body with a moderate level of carbonation.
Overall: Not bad.

Columbus is my second favourite hop for an IPA (after amarillo), so I'm quite excited to try this one. Acquired at a Trader Joe's earlier tonight. Generally like the brewery, but nothing they've made has blown me away. 7.0% ABV confirmed. 77 IBUs. 22 fl oz brown glass bottle with standard branded pressure cap served into a conical Samuel Smith's pint glass in me gaff in low altitude Los Feliz, Los Angeles, California. Reviewed live. Expectations are above average.
Served cold, straight from the fridge. Side-poured with standard vigor as no carbonation issues are anticipated.
A: Pours a four finger head of beige colour, nice cream and thickness, and generally good (~4 minute) retention. Body colour is a nontransparent translucent orange-copper. Glowing, but not vibrant. No yeast particles are visible. No bubble show. Light inconsistent lacing as the head recedes. Pretty standard fare for an IPA. No overt flaws. Not unique or special.
Sm: Orange citrus ester hops. Pale malts. Floral hops. A hint of nectary character. Just a biteen buttery. No yeast character or alcohol is detectable. A mild strength aroma. Pleasant and inviting. Some lemon peel. Bready grains.
T/Mf: Hm. Some coarse bitterness from the hops does come through - a key flaw in an IPA; this isn't well balanced. But until we hit that bitterness on the climax it's nice, with fruity orange citrus and pleasant floral hop notes. Soft, smooth, and wet up front, giving way to coarseness and a bit of dryness as we hit the late second act. Pale malts and bready grains form the foundation. Adequate body. Light lemon peel notes - the most subtle thing about this beer. No yeast character or alcohol comes through. Adequate carbonation. Decent presence on the palate. I do like it in a general sense, but balance is key to a good IPA and this is wanting. Built decently, but lacking complexity and subtlety.
Dr: Drinkable and enjoyable, but of limited quality. I wish it were better priced; even at Trader Joe's the bomber was too expensive - especially for an in-state brewery, not to mention one that's a scant two hours away. A decent IPA from Hangar 24, but not one I'll be revisiting. Hides its ABV well. IPA fans will probably enjoy it, but few will truly love it.

A - orange amber and very clear. Finger width head persists
S - subtle floral with a slight sour citrus note
T - light and sweet with a long finish of many floral and pine tastes. Nothing overwhelming
M - medium light body with great carb
O - nothing special but it's a well executed west coast iPad that doesn't attempt to go overboard in any one aspect. Great balance

This pours with an orange-tan-straw color along with nice foam. Visually appealing. Big citrusy aroma with some lemony notes. Flavor has a pleasing upfront bittering. I enjoyed the light lemon peel and touch of pine on the finish. Easy drinking and tasty.

A - pours a murky cloudy copper color. A rigorous pour yields a billowing white head of foam which quickly dissipates leaving some spotty lacing against the glass.
S - nose is subtle and rather muted overall but becomes much more potent as it warms. The hop character is floral and spicy with a touch of green leaves. While the powerful malt profile lends cereal grains and hints of caramel and toffee.
T - the flavors are surprisingly soft. A grainy bread backbone with a hint of gooey caramel on the front. Bright and biting citric notes in the middle. mostly grapefruit and bitter orange peel. Finish is toasty with a bit of sweetness which lingers with the citrus character.
M - silky smooth mouthfeel. inbetween medium and full bodied. medium carbonation.
O - I wish the nose was a bit more expressive but other than that it is quite a pleasant IPA. Something I would like to try again if the chance would arise.
