On tap at the location by John Wayne Airport.
Pretty. Tan, slightly milky looking head. A finger in height, but quickly dissipates. Sparse lacing.
Nose and then flavor is lightly cocoa. But as I get in a few sips I notice a mild fruity note that doesn't jive with the chocolate title.
Mouthfeel is medium in body, lightly carbonated, and smooth in the finish.

I poured a pint from a pay per ounce tap at Stave & Barrel, Fullerton CA. A dark reddish brown body with a tan one finger head filled the glass. Chocolate, malt, and hops were discernible on the nose. Coffee undertones emerged while drinking. the feel was good, but overall, very little going on outside the norm. Nothing from a chocolate or cocoa perspective to merit the ‘Chocolate Bomber’ appellation. A dependable if somewhat generic stout.

it’s not trying too hard, which is refreshing. just a light porter with chocolate and vanilla.

June 3rd, 2016 - A huge plume of cocoa hits the nose on the pour of this chocolate porter, and draws the drinker into the deep haze of dark chocolate. The flavor has a lovely, dark cacao touch, and has the richness and velvety softness of a molten chocolate cake. The palate is soft and light as well, cushioning the chocolate flavor on a light, satin pillow.

Consumed June 12, 2016 at some hotel I can't discern from the picture of the bottle. Looks like at some point the name of this changed to "Chocolate Bomber" which I guess is fitting given the size format here. I'm going to keep the review here, since my bottle literally says "Chocolate Porter" on the label as the name. But these reviews should prolly be merged since it looks like the same beer by a slightly different name.
Pours a black/dark brown color with a much lighter shade of brown (beige) as the head color that props itself up and retains around the 1/2" mark. The aroma is mostly cocoa nibs. A little bit of roasted barley and vanilla behind that.
I didn't find it to be all that sweet or sugary, like the previous reviewer, I thought it leaned more to the bitter/metallic side that kept any notions of dIaBeEtUs away from a viable pejorative about the beer. The carbonation was on the nose, once the palate adjusted to a bit of the bitterness, the mouth feel took on more silky dimensions and had a respectable degree of not making the alcohol feel boozy or hot.
Its a decent beer at a decent price.

Poured from a refrigerated can into a tulip glass. Rich dark color, coffee looking with a light brown foam. Earthy chocolate coffee aroma and not overbearing. Smooth taste with slight hint of chocolate and vanilla. I would not call it sweet, but a flavor I would expect from a porter. I like this beer and it has become my local favorite. I've tasted many beers over the years starting in West Germany circa 1971. I'm certainly not an expert, but I know what I like. This is an excellent Porter and I find it refreshing, flavor rich with a smooth drinking experience. Highly recommended for Porter enthusiasts.
