Appearance - Pours a very clean copper/Amber color. A touch hazy. Poured into tulip beer glass and got a good 1" head that dissipated over time. No lacing although that speaks more of my glassware.
Smell - Malty, bready...slight sweetness. Definitely malt forward. Pleasant.
Taste - Smooth malty taste with a slight lingering hop bitterness. Not overpowering. Balanced.
Mouthfeel - Light/Medium body with definite carbonation
Overall - This is the beer that got me into craft beer. Before this Newcastle was my beer of choice. I instantly switched after my first taste. That was a few years ago. I've move on from this trying other styles and options from Red Trolly and Firestone DBA on the red ale side to a ton of IPA. Revisited this one for old time sake and I still really like it. Will be sure to have around from time to time. Not the best, but still a really solid beer.

A 12 ounce bottle poured into a shaker pint glass.
Appearance - A rusty copper color. Hazy. Thin white head. Moderate lacing.
Smell - Malty. A touch sweet. A bit herbal. Nice.
Taste - A big malty flavor up front. A little toasty. Herbal. A mild flowery hop finish.
Mouth - A little oily. Fizzy. Substantial.
Overall - This is a really good beer! It reminds me of a nice English bitter (malty, sweet and toasty with just the right amount of hops). I am eager to try more alt-biers and more Hangar 24 beers.

Appearance: A bit of a bubble show produces a frothy ecru head; the amber colored liquid is slightly hazy; nice retention all around, with a reasonable amount of lacing
Smell: Brown bread with a hint of caramel; slightly herbal
Taste: Brown bread forward, with just a touch of caramel underpinning; herbal, metallic flavors develop in the middle; the finish is almost medicinal
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: More like a Neue bier than an Alt bier and that is no compliment
