I don't know what happened between the first and second batch, but this beer is not what was described in the initial reviews.

The strong, apricot flavor described in the earlier batch seems to have gone by the wayside (first poster actually described a candied apricot flavor).

The first pour hints at apricots, it settles into my four oz taster glass with a big head and an orangish-yellow body. The scent of apricots and grain is mild but present.

As is the taste. Nothing to see here. It's an average wheat style brew with even less fruit flavor that is yielded by the average belgian yeast. Full, satisfying mouth feel, a definite citrus tickle on the back of the tongue, wheatiness, but apricots? Way in the background of this flavor picture.

On the other hand, not wanting to waste my bomber, I half-filled a pint glass with Polycot, added 2-3 oz of lemonade and topped with ice. Fantastic.

22-oz.bomber into a pint glass at my house on Dec. 1, 2012 (purchased for $4.99 at Bine and Vine in Kensington (San Diego, Calif.) on Nov. 29, 2012. Hazy straw grapefruit with a finger of light gray head that dissipated very quickly. No retention on the top or on the sides.

Smelled apricot, peach, pear, sour fruit, wheat, lemon grass, honey and some skunkiness.

Tasted similar to the nose. Got sour fruit, tart fruit, apricot, pear, peach, lemon grass and still that slight bit of skunkiness.

Light body. Thin texture. Fizzy (high) carbonation. Abrupt finish.

Decent beer overall. Probably about what I expected, but I’d have it again.

Label is different than what is pictured above.

A: Pours a hazy straw yellow with a finger thick white head which fades to the rim leaving some splotchy lace.

N: Fruity (apricots - surprise), some lemon/citrus, wheaty grains, faint sweetness and tartness.

T: Wheaty with some very faint chalk. Apricots prominent along with some stone fruit pits. Mildly sour with trace lemon and grass and yeast.

M: Light body and medium carbonation. Finishes with yeasty wheat and subtle apricot.

O: Labeled as a wheat-wine style, but correctly identified above as a pale wheat ale. Would like to try fresher as the fruits seem somewhat faded.

22oz bottle poured into a tulip. Polycot pours very hazy with a quickly receding head, not very attractive in the glass. Aromas of dried apricots don't dominate but are definitely apparent, no hop aroma. Palate is earthy and musty, again some apricot. Light mouthfeel.

The appearance was a bit of a turnoff and the flavors and aromas of apricot felt subdued, worth trying but not repeating.

Lists itself on the bottle as a “wheat-wine style ale brewed with fresh apricots”
Bottled: unk

Pours a light golden hazed ale with scatter surface white foams. Smells of wheat, pepper, a little sugar, some hints of apricot blossoms (rather than the meaty fruit I do so love) and a hint of almost American yeast. Pleasant, but simple nose. Flavor is nice and fruity now, a good hit of apricots, very sweet, however. A little bit of the wheat character in the back. Full bodied with low carb and a watery finish. Of the wheatwines I’ve had, this one is pretty decent, but nonetheless, this just may not be my style.

I would have loved for this beer to have a pure and refreshing moment, mid-quaff, of juicy apricot flavor. I had to settle for some subdued notes, mostly smacking more of dried apricot than fresh, yummy apricot.

I also would have liked to see a little head retention; it quickly dissipated into an off-white ring around the hazy orange-yellow beer. The beer did look refreshing.

And along with that bright note, the body was light and smooth. Some earthy, light hops lingered on the palate but mostly it finished clean with traces of the fruit. I would not have suspected the beer to be 7+%.

On tap for the 2nd Anniversary event at Tony's Darts Away in Burbank, CA.

Pours a murky whitish yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Thick streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, yeast, and a slight apricot fruitiness. Taste is the same with the apricot being very subtle flavor wise. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty average beer with a very mild apricot presence in the aroma and flavor.

On tap @ the bruery provisions

Look: Murky yellow in color and semi translucent with a 1/8 inch white head and some spotty lace

Smell: Very light apricot nose with just a touch of wheat not impressed

Taste: Ok this beer flavor wise is a straight miss. It has a soapy water kind of taste with just the slightest amount of apricot. If I did not know this had apricot in it I would never had guessed thats how lack luster it is

Mouthfeel: Thin body and mild carbonation and a touch dry

Overall: Not Hangar's best offering

Had on tap at Bruery Provisions. Part of a flight, poured in a 5 oz tulip glass. Reviewed from notes.

A- Very light, cloudy pale yellow color. Small white head with watery lacing.

S- Light fruits and malts. Hops are very mellow in this beer. Not pungent, but nice and fruity.

T- Fruits, lighter malts and apricot. Not strong on the fruits, but you can't get around them.

M- Thin, but smooth and dry finish. Bubbly carbonation.

O- Tasty, fruity beer.
