Finally had an opportunity to check out Berwick Brewing Company. My girlfriend and I drove down Saturday night and we both came away very impressed and look forward to going again.
Beer: Had about 8 or 9 beers to choose from. Nice variety. They do samplers but we opted to each try two beers. My girlfriend had the Wheat (bartender offered to add apple cider which was nice touch) and the Hondo which is a full-bodied lager. I had the Pilsner (very good) and the Atomic Punk IPA (wonder if it's named after the Van Halen song?)
Atmosphere: It's not fancy. It's an old bread warehouse. Has a unique feel to it with lots of stuff on the walls, including album covers and lots of German beer bottles.
Price: 4 beers and a pint glass cost $20 so it's very reasonable.
Food: Didn't try the food, but it looked good.
Service: Bartender was very friendly, helpful and knew about the beers she was serving.

One Guy (Soon to be Berwick Brewing Co.?) Brewing Company is small, however it is growing, and a wonderful place to visit.
Being about 25 minutes away from Berwick I really don't mind one bit for what you get, especially now that he has the pizza & the biergarden.
The atmostphere is homey, tons of old school beer signs & memorabilia, some Berwick related things, very nice.
Every time I have visited Guy himself has been there, to tending the bar, working the register, you name it I've seen him there doing it pretty much. He's truly a character to talk to also, good stories, good beers, probably a good thing this isn't in my hometown or I'd never leave.
The mainstays that I've always seen on tap are Berwick Lager, the Wheat, and my favorite the Atomic Punk IPA. I haven't had anything there I didn't like.
All in all with everything he's doing & growing it's really good to see!!! Definitely worth a visit if you are in or around the Berwick area!!!

Guy has been brewing for 20 some years. His place is all about beer and conversation. He is humble and entertainingly fun and enjoyable. He will expand and start a menu in the future. He has four on tap using a 2 barrel system and rotates thru 8 or so recipes. I very much enjoy his pilsner. He has a good pale ale and a very good lager. I am not a stout drinker. I would rate it very good, but it may be great to a stout drinker. He serves his own pizza Thurs. thru Sat. with HOMEMADE SAUCE(it is great!) and has free pretzels. The atmosphere is plain jane and very clean. He's enjoying himself and is happy with where he is at as far as growth/expansion. If you are from out of town, it is worth a 30 minute or more drive if you need to kill an hour and are thirsty. I live 20 minutes away and seem to be thirsty most weekends. Sometimes I stop on Sunday for a couple. People from Bloomsburg and surrounding area, if you haven't stopped in you are missing out. I always find someone to enjoy a beer with at the bar. Finally a brewpub close to home!
Guy has expanded hours. Open 3PM til 11PM Tues. Wed. Thur. Fri. Fridays. Open 1PM til 11PM Sat. 1PM til 7PM Sun. . Now called Berwick Brewing. They now have an event area for bands and other events. Guy and Tom have completed the pavilion over the Bier Garten. It opens on May 22. They still only serve pizza but have expanded the choices which are great, with Jager and Wisconsin Curd Cheese being tied with the plain cheese as my favorites. Generally there are now 5 taps serving. I believe this summer will be the best yet as they continue to expand and grow. Also Guy is "peddling" some of his beers to the Philly and the northern Susquehanna valley.

this place is a little hard to find, it's tucked behind an auto garage and an interesting little house. not to say that location alone put him in the Northern Brewer for smallest production brewery in 06 but a sign by the road might help. once you spot it you think, that's probably the brewery back in there, and you're right. there's a nice little tasting room with some tables and bar stools and the One Guy... you know the one. the quality of the beers is outstanding, all three that I tasted were clean well balanced beers. the service was unsurpassed, of course the only competition we had on saturday afternoon was one of the regulars filling a couple of growlers. the selection is good, six beers in all on tap while we were there. the food aparently consists of hotdogs, I'm not sure if he does that for some legal reason, or if he really likes hotdogs. regardless, next time I'll know about the bring your own food policy.

Went to One Guy Brewery last night 8/9/08l with my buddy. It was a little hard to find, the address said front street in Berwick but it was actually on a side road. Once we got there, it was definitely my kind of place. Extremely laid back atmosphere, door open with no air conditioning, great feel to the place. Beers were great, I had the season's wheatings at the heffe weizen. Great quality beer. Guy is great to talk to, very nice and very knowledgeable about the craft. Affordable beer prices, cool glasses. Like Guy told us, NEPA needs more of these places!

a- exactly what i expected to see in ber'k. nice place lots of personality.
q- the beers are really good. i was impressed with the fact that they are all so good. i had the bourbon barrel imperial stout, soulfire, atomic punk ipa, and the porter. all great.
s- great selection, they hit many different styles and all are delicious so you really dont need an extra 20 to woo you.
f=we had the "steve-o inferno" pizza with kielbasa added to it, the "margherita" and the "curd & Some kind of sausage(cant remember). the pizzas were great-crispy crust, just enough toppings and great textures the ingredients really worked well together.
v- the beers and pizzas were priced below what i expected.

Stopped by mid afternoon, wasn't very busy and was able to get a seat at the bar. Plenty of selections available, somewhere around 7, including a wheat, lager, porter, ipa, a raspberry porter, and others.
I tried the Bill's Porter & Atomic Punk IPA, both were very good, and very reasonably priced given the quality. I also got a growler of the front street wheat for a friend. The service was very good, my glass was never empty for long and everyone was very polite.
Lots of beer nostalgia on the walls, and some information about local breweries as well, which was nice to see. I will definitely stop by again!

What can I say, this place is a real find. Decided to hunt the brewery down on a return trip from State College and almost gave up when I turned down a side street to make a U-turn and saw the sign that said the tap room is open.
By the time we got there, it was a half-hour before closing but Guy cheerfully poured my wife and I pints. The bar was full with great people and good conversation. We ended up hanging out for a few more pints since Guy decided to stay open a bit longer due to the crowd.
When there, there were four beers on tap, all of which were fantastic. My favorite is the wheat beer which goes well with the late-day mid-August weather.
The place is more of a brewery with a taproom attached. He gladly allows people to BYOF (bring your own food) if the hotdogs aren't enough for your tastes.
It's great to encounter a place/person that truely enjoys and understands the craft and is willing to share his talents with the world. If in the Berwick area, hunt it down, you'll be glad.

A simple, no frills place. Brewerania decor on the walls from various gigs that Guy has played over the years. A simple 8 seat bar and a few tables on the side. What more do you want? This is a small brewery with a glorified tasting room, not a typical "brewpub".
Everything we had on tap was spot on and tasty...Guy sure knows how to brew quality stuff.
Being a one man operation the six taps on are about all you will ever see. Six is my average...so I usually give a 3...but considering the choices were varied, Season's Wheating's was on tap in July (X-mas in July) and Guy is a one man show I couldn't really ask for more...so I bumped this up by a point.
Guy was a treat to talk to. After having multiple growlers of his stuff I finally got the chance to stop in for a visit! It's always a shock when you walk into a place you have never been and the owner says to you, "Oh, you must be the famous D"! Now that is a mighty fine welcome! Nice to know that he reads SierraGs's blog!
A great value...we got like 6 pints, a growler fill and a One Guy T-shirt for me and our bill was around $40. How can you go wrong with that?
If and when in the Berwick area over the weekend I will make time to stop by and visit Guy and his fresh, tasty brews...best of luck and keep up the good work!
Edit:September 2009---One Guy Brewing (and that may change soon) now has an awesome biergarden out back and increased indoor seating. In addition to the atmosphere upgrades Guy and crew are now serving up some rockin' pizza. During our past visit we had the Margarheita and Steve-O's Inferno pies....both of which were very good with the Steve-O's taking first place!
So, in additon to some of the freshest brew out there One GUy is serving up mighty fine pizza too. If you haven't made it to Berwick to check this place out I suggest you do so!
