What a nice place - I wish I could trade my local and highly regarded 15-tap bar for Moe's Tavern. I've only been to Moe's once and we were the only customers in the middle of a weekday afternoon. The owner was in and out, but he and the hired help were veryl friendly and made us feel at home. I had an Allagash Tripel and maybe my wife had a Dogfish Head 90, but there were plenty of good options. We had another 1 1/2 hrs of driving ahead of us and not nearly enough time, so we couldn't stay for seconds. I don't pass through Lee that often, but we'll make a point to stop from now on.

A bit off the beaten path but well worth the search. Very casual atmosphere. The guys pouring the beer know their stuff. Good guys for a beer chat. The taps are rotated regularly and they offer a good bottle selection. I try to hit Moe's once a month (I work no more than a five minute walk from their front door.) Although they no longer offer food you are permitted to bring a bite to eat from one of the local shops into the bar. There isn't much of a night life going on in Lee and Moe's is a hidden gem.

I've been to Moe's 3-4 times so far and have never had anything but a great time there. Josh, the owner, is very friendly and personable, and his personality echoes through the place. They have a fantastic tap, bottle and can beer selection (all craft, no macro), and a fine selection of bourbons. Also, they have a nice selection of locally distilled spirits I'd never seen before (and thus have another reason to keep visiting western MA).

Moe's recently closed their kitchen to focus on their main product sales: beer. There are plenty of places to order out from, and Josh is cool with people bringing food in (and has menus for many of the local delivery kitchens).

Beer prices are about what I've come to expect from bard selling good craft beer. Pints range from $4-$6 mostly (unless it's something very rare or strong), and bottles cans are priced appropriate to their availability and strength.

If I lived in or around Lee MA, Moe's would be a de facto haunt of mine. It's a great place to relax with good company and enjoy some fantastic beer.

Stopped by on the way home from Albany. Located just a short distance from the Mass Pike in Lee Ma.

Great selection of American craft beers with the exception of some Canadian selections (they are still our friends, I think) Taps and bottles and plenty of televisions to watch your favorite sports team rip your heart out year after year. I had a Allagash White for a quick refresher. The place seems like a townie bar with a great selection of beers (nothing wrong with that). Lots of brewery point of sale on the walls, bartop, bathrooms ect.. (better than selling it on ebay)

All in all, nice place, great selection and would visit again if I lived closer

My only regret about this place is that I do not live closer to fill his part time tender's opening that being said, This place is Great. A few minutes after i walked through the door I was in love. Was it their similar affection for craft beer? Was it that they knew me by name(first and last)? Was it their awesome Tap selection? Was it their even slightly more awesome bottle selection? The overall Ambiance of a sweet little craft beer bar parked in a nice quiet town nestled in the berkshires? Friends I have no answers for you this day..Possibly on my next trip there I will have the answers that you seek. I reccomend this place to anyone who has the capability to get there, and the love for great brews as i have. this will be a place you will not forget. friend them on facebook as they update their tap list there regularly.

Prost!!

I finally visited Moe's and was thrilled that I did. I wish this place was closer to where I lived. It may a good thing it is not.

I have to say the atmosphere is AWESOME. This place is right up my alley. The decor, music, and overall vibe was great.

I did not realize that aside from it's top shelf liquor selection it is a American Craft Beer only. The beer follows suit with it being the best that there is to offer from America.

The service was great. The owner was actually the bartender so it was cool to chat it up with him.

They no longer serve food but he was quick to let us know that we are welcome to bring things in from the local shops.

Overall the prices were good. The ambiance rocked. I am torn between this place and Ye Olde Forge in Lanesboro. I prefer Forges beer selection as it is from all over the world and there food is great but I could sit in Moe's for hours and just have a blast. I will be going to this place whenever I can.

This little place deserves all the praise it gets. What a great lineup of beers. Great eccelctic atmosphere...multiple themes.Very interesting stuff...posters, cans, skis...you name it.
Popped in on a very quiet Monday afternoon after riding up Greylock's newly paved road...both sides..ouch, I need a beer NOW. Pretty Things ... Field Mouse Farewell ..Green Flash IPA. 13 good ones to chose from on tap and a really impressive bottle list.
The kitchen was closed, but the bartender said it was Ok to bring in food. She gave me a few suggestions around the corner.
Too bad that I rarely am in Lee, but I would be a regular if I was anywhere near it.

8-11-10 I am raising my ratings on service and selection. I have been in twice after my initial visit. I love this place ! The owner was training a new bartendar and they were both very cool. The selection is great...everything on tap was quality. I think I have to look for more excuses to be in the area so I can go here.

Update 2012 : I have been here several times now; about once a week in the summer.I have gone to lots of beer bars in the past 7 years. This, IMHO, is the best anywhere. Great beer selection, service
( it's either the owners tending bar or somone else who knows beer and makes you feel welcome) friendliness,atmosphere,vibe...always meet interesting people there.I have brought friends here; recomended it to others...everyone thanks me for letting them know about Moe's.

This place is a must stop if you're in the area.

I follow them on Facebook and the on tap selection is ever changing, it's great!

Walked in for the first time the other day and was greeted by name. First and last name. I was a bit shocked to say the least, and the beer is top notch.

I also heard their dogfish 60 min wings are award winning, but the kitchen is closed and under renovations. Also is full of kegs, lol.

The owner know his beers well. And know what glasses to pour them in. Excellent establishment.

I love the eclectic atmosphere. Simpsons paraphernalia, pulp fiction references, craft beer posters,... this is my type of place. The wife and I hiked Mt Greylock and this is right on the way home. The place is very clean. Clean draft lines, fresh food. I've never gotten better service anywhere. Josh is the man. We sat down and he went over every beer on the taplist with us. Our food order came out very quick. Everyone was so friendly. Open dialogue throughout the bar. The least pretentious craft beer bar that I've ever been to. Awesome selection. About 13 beers on tap... 0 wasted. All carefully selected. KBS keg in storage. Food menu is short but sweet. The wings and burger we had was very tasty. Everything was very reasonably priced. I have to restate - Josh is the man. Awesome place... may be my favorite.

Place keeps about 13 good american craft beers on tap (and fresh) and a great bottle selection (no Duff, or even Düff). They maintain a good mix on what's on hand for the season. There on a warm summer day, but they still had a couple good darker beers on hand, along with a nice selection of summery stuff. The DFH 60 Min IPA is the house beer that's always there.

Food menu is rather limited, but they do what they do well. Friendly, knowledgeable staff, and the owner never seems to be out of earshot for long.

If you're in the area, be sure to stop in.
