A rich, creamy golden colored ale fermented at a cool temperature to give a clean finish. Hints of yeasty bread and a touch of hops combine to make a beer that is truly more than the sum of its parts.

Pours a clear golden color with a solid 1 inch ivory head that lingers, eventually dissipating into a nice pool of foam.
Aroma is light, fairly grainy, with a touch of corn and slightly sweet malt. Floral hops are subtle.
Flavor reveals more complexity, though grain still dominates. There's also a substantial corny aspect to the profile. Slight hints of green apple are somewhat offputting, carrying into a lightly bitter finish.
Body is a touch heavier than expected, with significant carbonation helping to keep the flavor fresh.
Overall, a very sessionable brew. Wouldn't pay 3 bucks a can for it again, though.

A great golden ale that clings onto taste. Not too bitter, nutty with hints of clove. Not too heavy, which makes it easy to drink.

Solid blonde from my favorite Texas brewery. Can't go wrong with the gang from Conroe.

Nice slightly hazy straw color with a white head, nice malt aromas per the style are on point, and they translate to the taste, with a nice medium bodied mouthfeel to close things out well. A really nice crusher, IMHO.

Look is light to medium gold with a fluffy white head. Smell is light grain, yeasty, bread crust. I’ve had this on several occasions and for some reason I find that it tastes different each time I have it. This is probably my palate and not the beer though. Mostly, I find it slightly malty with some light citrusy hops and a little estery quality from the yeast. I think it’s an excellent example of the kolsch style, though I’m not a big kolsch fan. There’s nothing off-putting or offensive going on and it’s very well made. It’s got much more character than any of the big macro brews for sure. Southern Star makes very good beers and this is no exception.
