First had: on tap at Capone's, Norristown, PA
Served in a snifter, a hazy amber colored liquid topped with a small white head that retained well and left some lacing on the glass. Citrus in the nose, funky yeast, herbal, bready, lactic notes. Taste was tart/sour, but not puckering, citric, lactic, with a good balance of orange blossom sweetness, doughy malts, musty funk taking more of a back seat. Medium bodied, clean, and quite enjoyable overall.

On tap at Congregation Ale House in Pasadena, CA.
Pours a clear yellow with a foamy bone colored head that fades to nothing. No lacing on the drink down. Smell is sour and tart with some grain and fruity aromas. Taste is much the same with a fruity flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.

Pours a very cloudy, dark golden yellow color with a one finger white foam head that immediately settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic spotty lacing and large chunks of sediment left behind.
The aroma of this beer is pretty funky with earthy farmhouse yeast notes, musty brett and lactic cheesiness. The funk is countered by other floral hops, bread, zesty spice and estery light fruit notes. The strong barnyard character is nicely complimented by the musty brett/funky yeast and lactic acid. The lactic funk is surprisingly strong giving it a cheesy Berliner feel. Still, it smells like a saison/farmhouse ale with zesty spice, citrus, bread and light fruit. Some pepper, coriander and ginger followed by sourdough bread, floral hops, lemon ring and apple juice.
Medium bodied with soft carbonation, a slightly tart, acidic character, some lactic funk, citrus fruit and zesty spice. Decently sour yet very quaffable with some citrus acidity, musty bugs and lactic funk which compliment the earthy farmhouse yeast and dry spices. Crisp and refreshing with a stronger citrus presence than expected. Lemon rind/juice/acidity followed by sourdough bread and lactic funk as well as some bready yeast, ginger, clove and apple. Some lighter fruit and alcohol add sweetness before pale malt and grassy hop bitterness in the finish. This beer is pretty complex yet remains very well balanced, refreshing and easy to drink. Leaps and bounds above the regular version and my favorite of the Baladin sour editions so far.
