The main Binny's that I most frequent. Since its fairly new, this is probably the biggest & cleanest Binny's I've ever set foot in! The beer selection is fairly large with a table set aside just for the bottle singles. (seem to only sell mainstream beer singles) The service can be a hit or miss depending on who's helping you out. The only kool guy there is Keith, since he's a fellow beer geek. He also told me that the selection between this Binny's & the Naperville one varies since both go through different distributors. With that said, some of the stockers have a tendency to blow you off when asking for an item that they don't carry, yet. The cashier's here are pretty thorough when it comes to observing your Driver's License. (so watch out fake I.D. card holders)

I stopped in during an overnight stay in the area, as I do whenever I'm in a Binny's town. This one did not disappoint. (They never do, but that's another program.) Very clean, well lighted and well organized. Incredible selection of craft beers from all over, as well as a ton of imports. Excellent selection of wines and spirits of all types. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, which is true of every Binny's I've visited. Make it a point to stop if you're in the area.

Binny's on Rt59 in Plainfield is a great beer and other adult beverage store. The atmosphere is very bright so it with decent isles making it easy to look at the large beer selection. The store is very clean and usually there are 2-3 people walking around to offer help if needed. The selection is pretty dog gone good. Many beers both domestic and internaitonal to chose from. No food here, just a store. The prices at Binny's I guess are reasonable. You can always find expensive beer or low priced beer.

So this is the Binnys I hit up most often.
There's no tap list, or growler station, or deli. I come for the beer.
George and Keith are awesome. They are friendly and quite knowledgeable.
The beer is laid out in a reasonably well-organized fashion: the imports are all along the south wall with macro and large craft brewers on the facing shelves and in the next aisle. Midwest goodies are at the end of the south wall by the coolers and other craft lines the shelves all over. The coolers extend around te corner changing from craft to macro gradually. The facing shelves are all the various bombers.
A really good selection of imports and domestics.

The pricing is in line with all the other Binnys stores.

Pretty much the standard Binny's experience. A large amount of craft brews and imports. What I really like about this store is the service. A number of the beer guys there have always been real helpful with suggestions and with pulling beers from the backroom that have not been stocked yet (arrived that day and just hadn't been put out yet). They ahve also cracked a few in the store to sample to see if you like it before you purchase. They generally have a good pulse for when certain products will be in the store. The one downside to this lcoation is that they occsaionally receive beers a week or so later due to their distributors (this is not always the case). As with most Binny's it can be hard to pick up the truly limited release beers here if you are not on top of things.

From the outside this Binny's is quite a bit smaller than the average. Upon walking in the beer is off to the right hand side. A solid selection of belgians and bombers are lined across. The disappointment is the sixers. It seems to lack in the 4pk/6pk department in comparison to other Binny's. I purchased a 1/6bbl and Keith, their beer guy, was extremely helpful and worked with me to get the right keg for the event. Prices are what you'd expect. All in all a solid place, on par or slightly above most Binnys.

The Plainfield Binny's is a one stop shop for your beer needs. No, they don't have everything you want, but they have enough to distract you. The beer selection is great(and like someone said, not always the same as the naperville location). The prices are what we expect, with some great deals and specials to be had. Check out their website for the weekly sale ad and check the monthly specials. For example, April was craft beer month and they had hundreds of beers for 2-3 $ less than usual.

The staff is good, but I've found you need to ask for help. Most seem to let you shop in peace and wait for you to seek them out.

Get the Club card, it may not be beneficial every time, but it helps.

And something to be said, ALWAYS clean and organized.

Stopped in here right after my first trip to Limestone Brewing. It was a free standing building, adjacent to the strip mall that Limestone was in, anchoring the opposite corner. Layout was similar to the newer store in Algonquin, giant wall-o-beer on the right hand side, and another aisle facing the macro-dominated coolers in the back.

Staff seemed friendly, the few I encountered. It was a more hands off approach, no one was on the floor in the beer area, though there was a station for the beer manager in the back corner by the coolers. The cashier was able to check inventory on a beer that I asked about.

Selection was quite extensive, the majority of US craft were represented by full lines from any given brewer. I noticed 11 Jolly Pumpkin varieties including 2 Leelanau, Parcela, and Noel. Three varieties from Metropolitan, 2009 Bare Tree, and the new Belgian IPA from Hoppin Frog was stacked in the corner by the coolers. I didn't see any current limited items like Nemesis or Batch 9000. Imports were very extensive, several traditional lambics, though they were out of the Cantillon Gueuze, there were several others, plus 3 Drie Fonteinen.

Overall the most comprehensive beer stop in Plainfield...

(I know I have) They have more beer and wine than you could imagine! But my wife was dissapointed when the cheese shop had closed out of this location. So know we just have to goto the binny's on 83 in willow brook. Overall this is a great place with a helpfull staff. The guy that use to run the cheese shop was the "cheese guru" he also knows alot about beer. I cant remember his name but hes got some long sideburns. Like most Binny's, this store has a wide selection of craft beers, both in single bottles and in 6 packs, but what makes this Plainfield store my favorite Binny's of all the Binny's is the fact that they have a huge selection of discounted single bottles. There is a special bin in the middle of the beer section holding upwards of 200 bottles of miscellaneous beers. It is not always discontinued, out of date, or poor quality beers either. I have found such gems as Old Jubilation, Dogfish Head varieties, and even a bottle or two of Rouge Ales brews while browsing thru this bin. Often they are there for no other reason except that a single bottle broke in a 6 pack, so the other 5 bottles made their way to the discount bin.

They also have a friendly and knowledgeable beer manager who will tell you about new arrivals, tell you about bees that he just recently tried and liked, and has even told me about some of the gems that made their way into the bargain bin.

All the employees seem to know where their products are located if you need help finding anything, and even though their prices are not always the lowest around, they have so many sales you can always find bargains there.

My only complaint is that they did away with their in-store deli and cheese shop. It was great to be able to pair your beer with good quality cheeses all in one stop. Please guys, bring back the cheese!

Don't be fooled by the outside of this Binny's. You'll discover that it's very big once you get inside. It has the standard set-up of Binny's with the beer and coolers of the the right. This location does have a larger selection than locations in Kane County.

The workers are very helpful, and they will give you samples of beer. I didn't ask for a taste; the manager looked at the cool selections in my cart and offered some samples.

This location doesn't have food.

The only problem with this location is trying to turn left onto highway 59.

Wow. I stopped in here while visiting family and did not expect to be blown away with a phenomenal selection across the board. Stereotypes be damned, you can find great beer in the far reaches of the Chicago suburbs.

Off to the right is the large selection of imports--Belgian, German, English, Canadian, Japanese, you name it, its probably here. And in sizeable quantities too. Back beyond the cases of bulk imports is the micro section with bombers generally up top and sixers below.

Well organized, lit and clean. I struck up a conversation with the beer manager and he opened up a couple of bottles to sample. A nice touch.

The old curmudgeon in me says I'd offer the opportunity to purchase singles in addition to six-packs. And maybe have a larger offering in the beer cooler, which to me seemed undersized given the overall store size. But it is now a regular stop on my trips, and I'm curious to check out their other locations to compare.

You can definitely break the bank here.

Of all the Binny's I've been to this one most. Worth a review finally.

Upon entering this store, you must head to the right for the craft beer. There's only a couple aisles, but they last the length of the store. On the right is imports. Belgians, Germans, English, Scottish, etc. It's all there. A really nice selection, though not quite as good as the South Loop (nothing else is though). To the left will be the American crafts. Lots of bombers on top and six packs on the bottom. Lots of stuff available here that I can't get and I always find myself spending at least $50 here. The service is better than the other Binny's, one of the guys there actually poured some samples of a couple beers to try. As with the other Binny's, I highly recommend this one, a bit more than the Orland Park one though.

I'd been going to the Binny's in Naperville for years, even when it was a tiny single slot strip mall storefront (and went by a different name). Moved to Plainfield 7 years ago and was psyched when I found out that Binnys was putting a store within 2 miles of my new house. They even transferred the Beer Manager from Naperville (ask for George) to the Plainfield store. Whoever Binny is, I love you, man!

This place has a huge selection, like all the other reviews have stated. The most jaded BA would have a hard time finding something that they hadn't tried before.

They have a decent selection of big bottles/bombers in the cooler, but the six pack/12 pack selection is a little thin.

They have beer tastings fairly frequently, and although they advertise a fee, I've never paid a dime for a tasting there.

My only complaint is that they got rid of their absolutely freaking awesome cheese counter. One of my highlights of going in there was picking up some quality import and domestic cheeses to have with my beers. Oh well.

If you're close by or just passing by, make sure you stop in to see what they have. You'll be impressed.

As soon as I pulled up, I knew that this was going to be paradise. The place is massive for a liquor store. I walked in and there were 10 different six packs on advertised sale. I found directions to the craft beer section via the signs on the ceiling. The craft beer section is huge. I was blown away. I picked up some stuff that I couldn't get in Indiana and then perused the import section. I was impressed by the more rare Belgians I saw. The place was very tidy and well organized. My only complaint is that no one offered their help when I was wandering around starry eyed.

I went to this Binny's the last time I was in the area vs. the Binny's in Naperville. My brother lives between the two. This Binny's was much better than the Naperville store. I actually talked to one of their guys on the floor, and he seemed fairly knowledgable about the beers they had. The selection at this Binny's was also much better than the Naperville store. They didn't carry Bell's. They told me that's only distributed north of 95th street, so I can't fault them for that. Bell's is just getting back into the area, and hasn't spread all over yet.

This Binny's also was cleaner than the Naperville store, as it's been there maybe a few years at most. Next time I'm in the area, you can be sure I'm going here. I brought back a trunk load.

The only problem I had, was the beer section/aisle in the place is obsenely cramped. It's literally exactly as wide as 1 shopping cart, so you can't go in the aisle if someone is comming the opposite direction, and you feel rushed to go through the aisle of someone comes in behind you. It's gotta be a fire hazard of some sort.

I love the selection at Binny's. They have suck a huge selection of beers. I think thats great.

But one day I stopped by while they were having a huge sale. I picked up a lot of good beer and went to go check out. When I took out my ID they questioned it heavily and would not sell me my beer. I had to argue with the checkout person and the manager that if I was under 21, I would probably not be buying $120 worth of micro brews. Finally they let me buy my beer. The whole ordeal took a few minutes and kinda frustrated me.

Since they have a huge selection I will probably go back but man, what a hassle.

I live just 15-20 minutes from this Binny's and visit it quite often.

This place is located in a non-descript strip mall on Rt 59 in Plainfield. With the exception of traffic, it is very easy to get to and has adequate parking.

As you enter the store, you immediately encounter stacks of cased beers that are featured and on sale. If I had one complaint about this place it is that they put too many of their beers in this front area where the sunlight can strike them, but the bottles effected are few compared to the many that are not...

There are two very long aisles of beer stretching back into the store as well as a long row of coolers. I am constantly impressed with the wide selection of English and Belgian ales as well as a solid offering of German beers. The variety of American craft brews is also impressive. Anything that can be had in Illinois can be had from Binny's.

There is also a discount bin where you can pick up single bottles of various beers for 75 cents to $1.50 per bottle. I have scored many a beer in this way that I wanted to try but didn't want to spring for a whole sixer.

The staff has always been knowledgable and friendly to me on my visits. The prices are decent, with a few great sales each week, and a few overpriced beers here and there.

Overall I highly recommend Binny's in general and this location in particular.

First of all, a big thanks to fellow BAs for posting the reviews; without their comments we'd have never had reason to go the short distance out of our way to this place. We were in Plainfield for a family reunion on 8/31/08.

Located along a non-descript stretch of Hwy 59, where strip malls encroach on fertile fields. Having never been to a Binny's before (but having been to a BevMo in California), I knew roughly what to expect. Despite this foresight, my wife and were still blown away.

Though it's a store catering to all one's imbibing needs, we focused on the beer department, found to the right of the entrance. We stopped briefly at the case of high-end vintage liquors (wife is a scotch fan), then were sucked into the seemingly endless wall of imported beers. Great representation of all of Europe, well arranged according to country and sub-grouped by brewery. Every few feet something new and/or obscure and/or among our favorites would appear, elicitting the cliched 'kid in a candy store'-type gleeful reponse from one or both of us. Further back, opposite the dozen or so reach-in coolers, is the domestic section - which may have been even more impressive to this NW beer enthusiast. SO MANY familar (and unfamiliar) Midwest names that we'll never see in Oregon!

Service was available but unintrusive, allowing us to browse at our leisure. I noted a small table next to the coolers, which seemed to be the beer department's station; a computer monitor was displaying some research from the 'other' beer website.

With all the great selection, we maintained some restraint and stuck with some proven favorites to take to our gathering (and for sharing with our Bud Light/MGD/Corona-favoring family). That meant: a 6 of Weihenstephaner Hefe-weissbier, a 6 of Eisenbahn Escura, a 6 of 3F Gumballhead (plus a bottle of Belgian favorite, Gulden Draak...for later). Prices seemed a little high: $10-12 for six-packs, so the overall tab was around $50.

A couple minor complaints: most bottles were not refrigerated and some showed a little dust. I'd have liked a few more options from the coolers (i.e. less macros in there), but I get that they do what market demand dictates (exhibit a: the woman buying 10 suitcases of Old Style, exhibit b: the guy who blew past us ogling the Belgians, inquiring pointedly 'why're you guys looking at all that EXPENSIVE Euro stuff?!?!' ).

Looked like a great selection of wines and liquors, even cigars, but really we just breezed past to the checkout line.

I'm familiar with my local Portland places (Belmont Station & John's Marketplace) and compare this very favorably (despite the 'corporate' skew). Would definitely shop at Binny's again!

This is what a beer store should be, Being from Pennnsylvania, this is like a child in a toy store at Christmas time. There was a good selection of Midwest beers that I can't find in the east. The selection of Belgians and Germans was also above averge. The prices were comparable to the prices at a place like State Line in MD, so I would have to call it reasonable. There were a number of mixed 8 and 12 packs available. Its nice being able to beers in less than cases quantities and not be gouged in the price. Everything looked clean and fresh. Well worth a stop.

The store has a large selection of the usual wine and spirits. If you proceed to the south end of the store, there is a large selection of domestic microbrews and imports. They have the usual selection of locals as well as some other specialties. Toward the back of the store is a large selection of belgiums. Excellent selection, knowledgable staff, good service.
