Like most Binny's, this store has a wide selection of craft beers, both in single bottles and in 6 packs, but what makes this Plainfield store my favorite Binny's of all the Binny's is the fact that they have a huge selection of discounted single bottles. There is a special bin in the middle of the beer section holding upwards of 200 bottles of miscellaneous beers. It is not always discontinued, out of date, or poor quality beers either. I have found such gems as Old Jubilation, Dogfish Head varieties, and even a bottle or two of Rouge Ales brews while browsing thru this bin. Often they are there for no other reason except that a single bottle broke in a 6 pack, so the other 5 bottles made their way to the discount bin.
They also have a friendly and knowledgeable beer manager who will tell you about new arrivals, tell you about bees that he just recently tried and liked, and has even told me about some of the gems that made their way into the bargain bin.
All the employees seem to know where their products are located if you need help finding anything, and even though their prices are not always the lowest around, they have so many sales you can always find bargains there.
My only complaint is that they did away with their in-store deli and cheese shop. It was great to be able to pair your beer with good quality cheeses all in one stop. Please guys, bring back the cheese!

I'd been going to the Binny's in Naperville for years, even when it was a tiny single slot strip mall storefront (and went by a different name). Moved to Plainfield 7 years ago and was psyched when I found out that Binnys was putting a store within 2 miles of my new house. They even transferred the Beer Manager from Naperville (ask for George) to the Plainfield store. Whoever Binny is, I love you, man!
This place has a huge selection, like all the other reviews have stated. The most jaded BA would have a hard time finding something that they hadn't tried before.
They have a decent selection of big bottles/bombers in the cooler, but the six pack/12 pack selection is a little thin.
They have beer tastings fairly frequently, and although they advertise a fee, I've never paid a dime for a tasting there.
My only complaint is that they got rid of their absolutely freaking awesome cheese counter. One of my highlights of going in there was picking up some quality import and domestic cheeses to have with my beers. Oh well.
If you're close by or just passing by, make sure you stop in to see what they have. You'll be impressed.

Don't be fooled by the outside of this Binny's. You'll discover that it's very big once you get inside. It has the standard set-up of Binny's with the beer and coolers of the the right. This location does have a larger selection than locations in Kane County.
The workers are very helpful, and they will give you samples of beer. I didn't ask for a taste; the manager looked at the cool selections in my cart and offered some samples.
This location doesn't have food.
The only problem with this location is trying to turn left onto highway 59.

The Plainfield Binny's is a one stop shop for your beer needs. No, they don't have everything you want, but they have enough to distract you. The beer selection is great(and like someone said, not always the same as the naperville location). The prices are what we expect, with some great deals and specials to be had. Check out their website for the weekly sale ad and check the monthly specials. For example, April was craft beer month and they had hundreds of beers for 2-3 $ less than usual.
The staff is good, but I've found you need to ask for help. Most seem to let you shop in peace and wait for you to seek them out.
Get the Club card, it may not be beneficial every time, but it helps.
And something to be said, ALWAYS clean and organized.

Wow. I stopped in here while visiting family and did not expect to be blown away with a phenomenal selection across the board. Stereotypes be damned, you can find great beer in the far reaches of the Chicago suburbs.
Off to the right is the large selection of imports--Belgian, German, English, Canadian, Japanese, you name it, its probably here. And in sizeable quantities too. Back beyond the cases of bulk imports is the micro section with bombers generally up top and sixers below.
Well organized, lit and clean. I struck up a conversation with the beer manager and he opened up a couple of bottles to sample. A nice touch.
The old curmudgeon in me says I'd offer the opportunity to purchase singles in addition to six-packs. And maybe have a larger offering in the beer cooler, which to me seemed undersized given the overall store size. But it is now a regular stop on my trips, and I'm curious to check out their other locations to compare.
You can definitely break the bank here.

Ok I have to edit this because I just went to binnys this evening and I must say that the beer section has improved ten fold. They have two guys in there that know there stuff and are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. The selection has improved vastly and it was great. I was there for about 45 minutes trying to decide what I wanted to pick. Great store and recommend heading out there...give them a call first to see if they have what you're looking for if its rare but they have a lot of local stuff.

I live just 15-20 minutes from this Binny's and visit it quite often.
This place is located in a non-descript strip mall on Rt 59 in Plainfield. With the exception of traffic, it is very easy to get to and has adequate parking.
As you enter the store, you immediately encounter stacks of cased beers that are featured and on sale. If I had one complaint about this place it is that they put too many of their beers in this front area where the sunlight can strike them, but the bottles effected are few compared to the many that are not...
There are two very long aisles of beer stretching back into the store as well as a long row of coolers. I am constantly impressed with the wide selection of English and Belgian ales as well as a solid offering of German beers. The variety of American craft brews is also impressive. Anything that can be had in Illinois can be had from Binny's.
There is also a discount bin where you can pick up single bottles of various beers for 75 cents to $1.50 per bottle. I have scored many a beer in this way that I wanted to try but didn't want to spring for a whole sixer.
The staff has always been knowledgable and friendly to me on my visits. The prices are decent, with a few great sales each week, and a few overpriced beers here and there.
Overall I highly recommend Binny's in general and this location in particular.

Ahh Binny's! If I cant find something at my local liqour store or want just alittle bit more of a selection Im headin over to binny's! You definatley could get lost in this place! (I know I have) They have more beer and wine than you could imagine! But my wife was dissapointed when the cheese shop had closed out of this location. So know we just have to goto the binny's on 83 in willow brook. Overall this is a great place with a helpfull staff. The guy that use to run the cheese shop was the "cheese guru" he also knows alot about beer. I cant remember his name but hes got some long sideburns. Prices are reasonable just make sure you get your self a club card!

From the outside this Binny's is quite a bit smaller than the average. Upon walking in the beer is off to the right hand side. A solid selection of belgians and bombers are lined across. The disappointment is the sixers. It seems to lack in the 4pk/6pk department in comparison to other Binny's. I purchased a 1/6bbl and Keith, their beer guy, was extremely helpful and worked with me to get the right keg for the event. Prices are what you'd expect. All in all a solid place, on par or slightly above most Binnys.

So this is the Binnys I hit up most often.
There's no tap list, or growler station, or deli. I come for the beer.
George and Keith are awesome. They are friendly and quite knowledgeable.
The beer is laid out in a reasonably well-organized fashion: the imports are all along the south wall with macro and large craft brewers on the facing shelves and in the next aisle. Midwest goodies are at the end of the south wall by the coolers and other craft lines the shelves all over. The coolers extend around te corner changing from craft to macro gradually. The facing shelves are all the various bombers.
A really good selection of imports and domestics.
The pricing is in line with all the other Binnys stores.
