Figured since I've always had so much luck with the Cellars in OKC, I should stop by this one and see what's kickin' as my wife and I were in Norman for a doctors appointment. After deducing that the Cellar had taken the place of the old Hobby Lobby, and speculating on why Hobby Lobby was gone as it was always fairly busy, we pulled into the parking lot and moseyed on in.
We were greeted at the door by a friendly lady and gentleman and by a vast space full of tons of wine, liquor and beer. My wife perused the wine while I headed to the back for the beer wall where I was met by a section of "New" beers. I like this, as all the newer brews are in one place, and you don't have to peruse the fairly vast selection to seek out seasonals or new releases.
As with the other cellars, the selection is very nice, with your usual suspects, as well as a bunch of new beers by Great Divide, Rogue, Sam Adams, Boulevard etc. The Belgian section also has a nice group of offerings. If you're in Norman you should not want for just about any type of beer you want. If you're looking for a hop fix, they got it. If you're looking for some hefes or Belgians, they got it.
While Oklahoma's beer laws are pretty screwy, places like the Cellar are helping by keeping a good stock of brews and keeping up on the new release. I only see it getting better.

What all liquor/ beer stores should aspire to be. Selection is great and I hope they just keep on expanding on beer from around the globe. Staff is helpful and the atmosphere is bright and welcoming. Awesome store.
P.s. Get some more Wisconsin micro brews!!!

Don't bother ever going here. My company has been buying liquor from them for years for our company parties and events. Today, the manager was so rude to me and then the 2 boys that work behind the counter laughed and made fun of the situation. When I asked a question, they threatened me. It was a very uncomfortable situation and I was on a mission to make a large purchase. That didn't happen and will never happen again.
There are better liquor stores just blocks away on Main in Norman. They lost our company as customers and we will never recommend them again. Total Snobs!
I will go out of my way to let everyone I know how rude they are.

Moved my sister into OU, and was looking to score some Oklahoma beer before heading back home to Fort Worth. This place came up on BA and so I checked it out. What do I take from visiting this store? Awesome singles collection, one of the best I have ever seen anywhere. While I started with a pick-six, I ended up buying a 6-pack sampler from Choc Beer, outta Krebs, OK, which was packaged in an awesome box. Definitely recommend this place, hard to walk away from that singles wall, there is something for everyone. I can't speak for bars but as far as stores go in Norman, this one has gotta be hard to beat for those of us who geek out on beer.

The staff was very polite and answered all of my questions. I bought most of my alcohol for my 50th birthday party there and was very happy with all of my choices. I'm not a wine aficionado at all but the staff was able to guide me in the right direction by asking me questions to reveal what I wanted because I didn't have the vocabulary to actually state what I wanted.
Sometimes, people just ask "what do you want?" and that doesn't work if you "don't know what you don't know"! They were also able to tell me what my guests would probably prefer given the fact that it was a mix of young and mature graduate students. Everyone was happy!

I'm totally not sure why I haven't reviewed this place before, because I stop here just about everytime I'm in town. The Cellar is centrally located in Norman & within good proximity of the major watering holes or university campus. The place is fairly sizable much like a grocery store with tons of shelving devoted to your beer, liquor or wine needs. The beer section is well organized & neatly labeled with ratings & suggestions with an awesome selection of singles from the mix-a-six wall. However, I'd suggest to call ahead or make special arrangements for the limited or special releases as this store gets a ton of "foot traffic" afterall it's in a college town. Overall, the staff is decently "beer savy" which was especially true when starflyer58 worked here. If you're an area BA then you're probably already shopping here, so this review goes out to the traveling BA who may be passing through looking for a good "road beer" stop. This is it!

Every time I visit this place I'm amazed at the selection. A big plus for me is the hundreds of singles available - especially all the Oklahoma beers unavailable outside the state. Prices seem very reasonable. Service is typically helpful and I'm often impressed with how in touch the employees seem to be with the extensive inventory. They have full case availbility (and pricing) for several popular craft beers. Huge selection of wines and spirits as well. I don't think I've ever left here without spending $100! A must-visit if you're in the greater OKC area.

After hearing many Oklahoma BAs mention The Cellar, my wife and I stopped in to see what all of the hype was about. I must say that this is a very impressive store. They had a huge selection of liquor, wine, and beer not to mention an entire wall of single bottles for sale. The staff was very friendly and offered great advice on different beers to try. They also had some harder to find beers like the Belgian Yeti that I was unable to locate anywhere else near Oklahoma City. From now on this will be my go to store when I'm near Oklahoma City.

Welcome to a place for beer lovers. It's great to have a place like this in Oklahoma. Cellar features a wall of individual beers on sale...and not a bunch of garbage left overs. These guys know beer and keep their selection fresh and worthwhile. They can guide you to beers for aging, for drinking immediately, and for everything in between. Recommendations are posted everywhere and the staff is ready to help you at a moment's notice. Oklahoma may be somewhat limited on great beer distribution, but you can tell that the people at Cellar strive to stock their shelves with the best. I know when it's time to restock my beer fridge, Cellar is the place to go.
