A nice bar that offers a good selection of foreign beers. The price can be a bit steep for the more uncommon beers but it is usually worth it as York doesn't offer a great choice for beer hunters.

The atmosphere is pleasant, though the place can get very crowded on the weekend. It is one of the trendier bars in the city, and commonly frequented by student.

The bar has character, offering several uniquely odd rooms upstairs, in which there are a variety of sofas. However, beware of the stairs! The toilets are right at the top and after a few drinks it is not unusual to have to jump out of the way of someone rolling down them. I have personally experienced this, although if I remember correctly I was doing the rolling (which says a lot about the quality of the beer).

If in York, it is a must, as you can get a good beer, and on most weeknights a good comfortable chair to drink it in.
