Served on-tap in the Tasting Room. This one has been dry hopped with some kind of hops.
A - Pours clear orange with a small white head leaving minimal lace down parts of the glass.
S - Smells of fresh citric hops, topical fruits and some sweet caramel malt. The dry hopping really helped this one out.
T - Starts off with a mix of ripe tropical fruit and fresh citric hops. Caramel malts help break up the bitterness just enough to keep me interested. Finish is bitter with some lingering sweetness, doesn't stick around for very long.
M - Slick body with plenty of hoppy flavor and moderate carbonation.
O - This one is much better than the regular version I am used to having. I wish it was like this all the time, I would definitely order it more thats for sure.

Served on tap in a tulip glass
Appearance – Poured a deep amber color with a medium off-white head. The head faded fast to leave a fair amount of lacing.
Smell – The aroma was a good dose of pine and some earthy hops. There was also, mixed with these, some aromas of light citrus hop and small amounts of caramel and biscuit.
Taste – The taste started out on the sweeter and creamier side with some caramel and a light molasses sweetness mixing with a bready base. These however were not alone and there was a nice piney and earthy hop flavor initially present that grew stronger toward the middle of the taste. The pine and earthy flavors reached an apex at the middle of the taste and with the sweeter caramel, began to fade as the taste moved toward the end. While these flavors faded, other flavors of grapefruit hop and a light tropical fruit flavor came to the tongue, which in the end after all were mixed together created a rather tasty and complex aftertaste on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body as well as the carbonation level were above average. The creaminess of the body was slightly lost with the extra carbonation and the flavor profile would have likely done better with a slightly lower level of carbonation.
Overall – A nice IPA with a rather complex yet pleasing flavor. Not the best out there but one to try if you get a chance.

burnt amber with a big off white head and a nice bit of lace that flowed down the glass. The smell was dominatd y alcohol, as was the taste. Once it warmed some decent hints of citrus hops were brought forward and could finally be smelled. Lots of hop presence and a nice sweetness that tried to balance it out.The taste was smooth, albeit overpowering with the strong alcohol flavors

I had this on-tap at the taproom. Poured into a sample glass.
Appearance: Pours a clear dark amber with a half finger of off white head. Leaves a ring around the edge of the glass.
Smell: Some citrus and pine hop notes with a small amount of malt in the background.
Taste: Not very good. Super fruity up front, that goes away quickly and leads to an extremely bitter finish. There is a yogurt like weird aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with smooth carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: Not a very good beer. Really didn't like the aftertaste. Wouldn't have this again.

Served on-tap at the Spring House Taproom in Lancaster, PA. Poured into a 10 ounce miniature nonic pint glass.
A: Dark amber colored body with some orange hues around the top edges. A small soapy off-white head forms but leaves just as quickly. Minor lace is left behind with almost no retention at all. Typical looking in an "East Coast" Imperial IPA, darker in color than one would generally expect.
S: Earthy hops aromas - pine, sap, grass all come through boldly. There's certainly a bitter aspect to the beer, along with touches of black pepper and spice. Darker roasted malts come in towards the back end, giving this a very rich, roasted and piney nature. Perhaps I just don't care for these hop varieties but it's not necessarily a bad smelling beer.
T: Bold bitter earthy hop notes with touches of sap, pine needles, caramel malts and roasted dark malts. The malt profile is a nice balance to the hop flavors; however I can't help but feel it's very one-dimensional. Back palate into the finish has a bit of alcohol and a dry nutty note.
M: Lively carbonation, medium body with tiny bubbles across the palate giving it a smoothness. It does finish a touch dry and sticky.
While I do tend to prefer "West Coast" style IPAs with their juicy, citrusy nature, I do appreciate a well crafted East Coast style IPA. This, however, has quite an unbalance in its flavor profile as well as some disconnect in the overall big picture. Fairly enjoyable but I would definitely pass on this next time.

A great trade from good pals Disgrace and Inkmama in Lancaster, PA!! Cheers, folks!!
Pours a clear amber with a smack-a-dee-doodle-do of orange. A finger of soapy head clambers forth and then retreats into its burrow, leaving a faint cusp of foam. Nicely carbonated. Some lacing, but sparse. Deep, caramel aroma right off the bat greets your nose with aplomb. Mixed in there is some faint grapefruit peel, and also a touch of pine. Also a note of candied pineapple. So far, it's a big IPA. Flavor is interesting. Has a lot of Amber ale qualities to it: big malt for one. There's a very cannabis-like flavor to some of this. sneaks up on the front and introduces the middle, then sits back down in his chair to burn. There is also a grainy flavor in there. I'm wondering if they're using malt extract and not any whole grain. Not sure what's giving it this unqiue, yet not DIPA like flavor. Finish is super long and very hoppy. They have to be using hop extract, I think, to get this intense hop concentration. All-in-all this beer is like the stout I tried: super-unique yet not for everyone. An acquired taste.
What I like most: The very unique and fun aroma profile.
What I like least: The lack of a decent pour.
Verdict: Good, but not super exciting, big IPA.
