This light colored ale gains its subtle, bread-like flavor from a balance of gently kilned malted barley and choice malted wheat. A restrained addition of hops, contributes a pleasingly delicate floral aroma.

Had on tap at pub served in a pint glass
Appearance – Pale straw color with a large had that faded fast after serving leaving almost no lacing
Smell - A very light hop aroma of pine and citrus are present. Some wheat and a bit of biscut work their way through.
Taste – Very light and crisp. Wheat and a light amount sweetness coming in a bit later in the taste profile. There is a bit of citrus that lingers throughout the tasting experience.
Mouthfeel – Light and crisp (just as with the taste). The carbonation is on par for its style.
Overall – A very easy to down brew. Not the most flavorful, but would be very nice for a nice summer day.

A growler filled last weekend at the brewpub. A destination that is a nice gem on the long way home from PSU.
A: The ale, a blonde ale with a portion of wheat, is golden yellow and crystal clear. If I didn't know better, I'd call it a macro lager. A white head, over two fingers, with the first two pours (even overflowing on one of them). Lacing is sparse.
S: The nose is very light, grainy without much of a strong aftersniff (yeah, I just made that one up, I think). There is a soft citric wheat aroma running around too. Light and refreshing are the key take-aways.
T: Much like the nose, a mild but flavorful ale. The grains are light, pale with biscuity sweetness. Wheat is present too, adding a dry citric flavor that has a lemony tinge. Despite the mildness, the ale has quite a bit going on. Hops aren't in for very much, behind the scenes in a supporting role. The finish is lightly sweet with lemon and white grapes.
M: The mouthfeel is just right, the carbonation supporting the mild fruitiness of each sip. A well-made blonde ale.

A-Golden straw yellow with a thin white head that reduces to a thin veil and leaves spotty lace.
S-Biscuit/bready malt with just a touch of citrus in the background.
T-Light bisciuty malt up front with a crisp citrus hop bite. All rather simple and light.
M-Light bodied, crisp and very easy to drink.
D-A nice crisp refreshing session brew. A good offering to those hope to change over from BMC people! Also, a nice one to toss a few down after a hike on this brews nearby namesake, Winkleblecht Mountain.

On tap at Elk Creek Cafe & Aleworks on 3/27/09.
A - The Winkleblink Ale has a pale gold appearance and starts with a one-finger white fluffy head. It left a nice lacing on the glass...even after I had finished it.
S - A pleasant, slightly sweet, bready aroma.
T - As with the aroma, it has an upfront bready quality, with a subtle sweetness to it. Light maltiness, with subtle hops notes.
M - Medium body with a nice amount of carbonation.
D - I found this Blonde Ale to be a very accessible brew...and very drinkable. This would be an excellent crossover beer for someone who is new to the world of craft brewing.
I found this blonde ale to drink a lot like a lager...as it is nicely balanced, with very subtle hops notes.
The Elk Creek Cafe & Aleworks brew a nice selection of solid beers...and I liked the Winkleblink Ale so much that I left with a new growler of it.
