On tap at David Copperfields here in NYC.

I fully enjoyed this beer. A nice departure from the crazy-ass hop bombs that I'm getting tired of. Very nice balance, excellent malt flavor and balanced bittering that seemed somewhat different from the typical citrus hopping most IPA's are about.

Beautiful ruby red color. Had never heard of this brewery but I'd certainly have more next time I encounter it.

A - Slightly more than fingers worth of delicate airy white froth... A light bronzed color... Lightly carbonated... Rings upon rings of beautiful lacing clings to the glass...

S - A refined but potent hop burst... Mostly earthy and piney... No evidence that there's a malt base anywhere in here...

T - Hop forward, but in a unique way... The hops are European and Woody in nature... Perhaps a touch of pine... Some floral notes as well... Absolutely zero citrus... Walnutty as well... Very little malt base to speak of...

M - Medium bodied... Moderate carbonation... A bit dry throughout... Rather one dimensional...

D - Excellent appearance and aroma... Good taste... Slightly above average mouthfeel... The overall result is a very solid American IPA, but one that seems to be a notch below the best in class...

On-tap at Nebraska Brewing Co. - Papillion, NE...

Appearance: Dark copper color reminiscent of most IPAs.

Smell: Strongly earthy notes present themselves amid a citrusy hop essence.

Taste: Hops, hops, hops. The floral hop presence here overpowers everything. A hop heads IPA.

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with light carbonation that leaves a very dry aftertaste.

Overall: A good solid IPA, very much so for those into the extra hoppy.

Had at Sunswick 35/35 in Astoria, NY for International IPA day.

Review taken from notes.

A - This beer pours a nice dark copper color, darker than most IPAs. It has a small off-white head on it. The head left specs of lacing behind.

S - It smells of toasted caramel malt and piney hops. I am also getting some nice tropical fruit notes and some citrus as well.

T - The taste starts off with a nice toasted caramel malt background, then a big piney hop bite. There is some flavors of bread and fruit. The finish leaves some lingering bread flavors and hop bitterness.

M - This has a medium body and good carbonation. It goes down easy and has a nice smooth feel to it. There is a nice hop bitterness that sticks to the palate.

O - This has great drinkability. The flavor is great and I could definitely put a few of these down in a night. Overall, I thought this was a solid IPA. It has a very good hop bite, but also a really nice sweet toasted malt background. It is a very nicely balanced IPA. I recommend trying it.

12 ounce poured into pint glass.

Pours a deep orange color with a big 2 finger head that bubbles over the sides of the pint glass. Very nice appearance. Smells of hops, citrus fruits, malts, and floral. Big smelling beer. Taste is very good. Nice balance with the fruits/floral and the hop finish. Good tasting IPA. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and very balanced. Overall I love this. I went through a few pints and was still able to walk out the door but it has the flavor profile of a great DIPA.

Poured into a pint glass.

Had at the iTap in Soulard. The server said it was a new keg.

A - Poured a very nice strong amber color with some copper hints. There was a thin (0.5 in) head but it was sticky and dense with an off-white color.

S - Aroma of awesome pine. Very dank beer. Fresh smelling grassy notes. Some light biscuit malt as well as some toasty notes. The hops are dank. Smells like some strong pine with some very slight grapefruit sweetness. Very dank. Smells very much like pot.

T & M - Starts off very piney with a lot of resin flavor that isn't overwhelming because its balanced by some nice grain. Tons of bready notes are present and help to off-seft the extremely dank and piney beer. A very delicious brew. Reminds me a bit of Ska Modus Hoperanid. Very flavorful and well crafted.

O - this brew is great. Really excited that these kegs are making their way down to MO. The IPA is well crafted with intense yet easy to handle hop notes. Grassy and piney notes that are flavorful and not palette killing.

Nebraska IPA, 32-oz growler filled at Whole Foods Bowery in New York City for $4.99.

Appearance: Looks very standard/unexciting, although darker than most IPA's, with a deep clover-honey color, red overtones and some shiny yellow strikes. Barely any head and what does show up dies right away, which is mighty surprising for an IPA. Some negligible lacing.

Smell: Goodness! Very aromatic, with freshly-pollinated flowers, spice, mellow hops and a leisurely drive through the Heartland. Honey and melted caramel, plus a subdued base of malt and just-baked bread.

Taste: In the mouth, Nebraska is more citrus and hop than anything. Orange juice, pomelo, bitterness. Then, malt. Grassiness all around and a hop-forward finish that stings the mouth. Reminds me a bit of Flower Power, all those aromatic hops and enticing bouquet, but far from the outstanding profile of Ithaca's creation. A bit of savory touch at the end of the sip, sort of chicken stock or salted pasta water.

Mouthfeel: Resiny but not as oily/thick as other IPA's. Medium body, flavor and carbonation. Nothing to see here, move along!

Overall: Very drinkable brew, with a super enticing nose that doesn't quite deliver in the rest of categories but works well enough. Sessionable and very fresh tasting out of a growler. Would have again- I enjoyed it more than Nebraska Hop God.

I had a sixteen ounce draft of this on a recent visit to one of my favorite beer bars. I had heard about this brewery, that it was very good, and was anxious to try something from them. Overall I found it to be good, not out standing, but good.

Appearance was a typical IPA color, straw, a little bit cloudy with a good amount of carbonation that stuck around for a while.

Aroma was very hoppy, with a citrus focus...more west coast than east.

Flavor was also very hoppy, perhaps a little unbalanced in that direction but in general what you'd expect from an IPA.

Overall, this is a good IPA and if it's the only one on the menu, perfectly fine to drink all day (or night).

Enjoying a pint poured from a tap at Shadow Lake Shopping Center in Papillion, NE on 15 June 2011. Medium amber color and minimal head. See a few dozen bubbles rise whenever I take a sip and set the glass back on the coster; otherwise, none. Nice crisp bitter flavor with medium mouthfeel. Flavors, primarily on the back of the toungue, continually change for at least a minute after the swallow, but none of them are offensive. Tasty IPA. If I wasn't riding my motorbike today, I'd definitely have second pint. I'll surely return another day for more!

On-tap at the Brass Rail. I love IPAs.

A: The IPA is darker, more towards the nut brown end of IPAs. A thin white head came with the pour but didn't lace or linger.

S: The IPA has a heavy dose of citrus bitterness. The aromas are lush and strong, balance is an afterthought with these babies. Caramel malts add sweet breadiness.

T: More hops, bitter and delicious. Thick citrus hops practically leap out of the glass. Their resiny fullness has flowers and herbs along for the ride. Balancing malts don't put a dent in the pleasant bitterness. Citrus, rinds, pepper and even a little pine. All in all an excellent IPA.

M: The mouthfeel zings with hops, skinny legs and all. Another glass please.
