22 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but was bottled very recently. Pours fairly pitch black color with a nice 2 finger fairly dense dark tan head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas a huge dark chocolate, espresso, roasted malt, cocoa, toast, light char, light smoke, and light caramel. Fantastic aromas with great strength and balance of coffee and dark roasted notes. Taste of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, toast, light char, toffee, and caramel. Light coffee bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa, toast, toffee, light char, and caramel on the finish for a bit. Very nice balance and robustness of dark roasted flavors; with zero cloying flavors present after the finish. The big nose didn’t mirror in the taste, but it is still nice. Medium carbonation and body; with a creamy and lightly slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with hardly any warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is an excellent coffee stout. Very nice balance and robustness of roasted flavors; and very easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Thanx Shamrock071521:
Into a nonic:
A: dark brown close to black body, half finger copper/tan head, some light lacing
S: deep, dark coffee, light chocolate and vanilla trying to come out, but mainly stays subdued even as it warms
T: bitter becomes slightly sweet through the chocolate/vanilla combination, dry bitter aftertaste and finish
M: medium, somewhat sessionable, adequately carbonated
O: I say this is a pretty good coffee stout that I would have again

A-Pours a very dark brown, not quite black. Copper Brown head, heavy and thick.
S- Dark coffee smell, almost more of an espresso than a coffee really. Chocolate and vanilla on the back. Malty, as well.
T- Chocolate coffee flavor initial. There is a decent malt there, but it blends well with the other flavors. Dark roasty flavor lingers throughout the drink.
M- Mid-to-full bodied. Very good on the mouth, and easy to drink.
Overall a decent coffee stout. I personally like a more abrasive coffee flavor, but this isn't bed. Nice and smooth. A good coffee beer for someone looking for a less intense coffee flavor.

22 oz. bottle poured into my Samuel Smith Imperial Pint
A- A normal pour creates a 1-1/2 finger, dense, brown head atop a near jet body. Sustain is quite good and there's great stick left on the glass.
S- Loads of coffee. A little chocolate and other sugary sweetness. I'm thinking something along a Mack Fudge coffee with a single cream and a packet of Sugar in the Raw. The coffee gets even bolder with a little time to open up and warm slightly.
T- A little sweeter than the aroma lets on. Stills loads of medium-dark roast coffee and hints of chocolate and vanilla, especially in the finish.
M- Full bodied and quite viscus. Creamy carbonation. Really nice feel.
O- Awesome coffee stout. I would definitely buy this again. At a $6.99 for the 22, it's not too far off the better 12 oz'ers in a 4 or 6- pack. I really enjoy how robust the flavor is while clocking in at a modest 5.5% ABV.

Hmm, I was expecting more from this brew, but perhaps it's better on tap?
A- Pitch black, little head with no retention, and almost no lacing. It does look like black coffee, which is the only way I take my coffee.
S- Smells like coffee, though without the lingering coffee aroma in the air that you'd get from the pot or hot mug.
T- Cold coffee, but not too strong or weak. No complaints here. The coffee aftertaste lingers and that's quite nice.
M- This is where I'm most disappointed. It's way too thin for my tastes. That said, since black coffee isn't as thick as a normal stout, perhaps that's what they were aiming for? I'd prefer it to be a bit creamier, though.
Overall, it delivers as a coffee stout, but I'd rather try something more full-bodied next time.
