Stoughton spirits is hands down my favorite source for good beer. I live a couple blocks from it and is our choice when we have company over or are just looking for a couple brews.
Great selection on beer, wine and liquor. Many different kinds of micro brews. Quite a few that I haven't seen anywhere else. Prices are fair for a small establishment. Its nice to have a local establishment to support.
The building had a fire summer 2012 and Stoughton Spirits was closed for a few months. They have since made an excellent recovery and are serving the Stoughton area once more. Don't pass this one up.

I'm always skeptical of places with one "5" review, so I made it a point to stop here on the way home, and wasn't disappointed. Out of 5 or so regional stores, this was probably one of the best outside of Madison. Now that Mike's Plaza Liquors is closed, this seemed to be the only game in town.
It was a free standing building next to a gas station and generic looking food mart, signs proclaiming "Fine Wine" & "Craft Beer" were promising. Inside it was not huge, but well laid out and easy to navigate. Craft beer was towards the back and left in the coolers, and a few free standing shelves. There were a fair amount of lingering seasonals, this was the only place I saw Three Floyds in any quantity on my recent trip. They had Apocalypse Cow, Moloko, Dreadnaught, and Alpha Klaus. Good amount of Founders too, which I hadn't seen much of around either. Of course there was strong local representation from New Glarus, Lake Louie, Ale Asylum, Furthermore, and more. Noticed some Stone, Bells, Weyerbacher, and a good representation of imports focused on Belgian & German beer. Saw Ichtegems in a 750mL, which I hadn't seen before. The homebrew section was small but seemed clean and organized.
There was a little bit of sunlight getting in the front window, that hit the bottom of one beer shelf, but it was stocked with cans anyway. Counter service was friendly, and they let me use the restroom, where there was a Franziskaner sign on the wall. Overall a surprisingly good shop for such a small town, be sure to check out Main St. Pour House while in town also.
Weird, check the dates of the two reviews...spooky! :O

After stopping by to pick up some newly available brews, I came away quite impressed by what this store has to offer. There were plenty of imported offerings, but what really wowed me was the variety of American craft brew. This is a great place for a devoted beer aficionado, as I noticed much more of the new, exciting, and bold releases as opposed to some purveyors which lean heavily on the flagship, pedestrian brews. Locally brewed items were very well represented as well.
Not all, but a good portion of the beers sold in sixers were available as singles. That is a big bonus when you want to take a flyer on a variety of beers without going broke.
The workers were knowledgeable, friendly folks who stated a willingness to order suggested beers, and obviously share a passion for craft brew.
Some other offerings included an ample and impressive selection of liquors and wines, a cigar humidor, and some fine coffees. Most of my favorite indulgences in life were represented, and with gusto.
I'll definitely be returning here during my brief stay in Madison. I wish I would have known about this gem when I lived down this way.
