Located on Glen Street in Glens Falls, Davidson Brothers Restaurant & Brewery has a wonderful building with a lot of character in the business district of Glens Falls. The brewpub has an excellent atmosphere, lots of wood used for the interior, 2 floors, and a nice bar area. They have just celebrated their 12th anniversary of being open in October.
Since my wife had to work today, and her office is two blocks from the restaurant, I decided it would be a good day to head up and try some beers and have lunch together. We were greeted immediately and seated upstairs, probably due to having our 5 year old daughter with us, as a few other families were upstairs. I liked the bar area downstairs a lot, a really nice feel to the place.
I started with the Brown Ale (good), and was letting the chill come off, and soon our order came. I had an Angus Burger w/ fries, my wife had a bowl of chili with cheese on top surrounded by tortilla chips. The food was excellent, good bar food, the chili had a great flavor. Our daughter had a hot dog.
The Brown Ale was good, but a little thin overall, decent flavor but not as robust as I had hoped. As the chill came off, it certainly opened up. But, my second beer was the Oatmeal Stout, and I really enjoyed this, they certainly won me over with this selection. It looked like a Guinness and was smooth and delicious. I will be making more trips up for sure.
They had a good selection of Ale's, IPA's, and some others. You can get a sampler of six beers which I plan to do on my next visit. They also sell 6 packs and growlers (refills of course), so you can bring there beers home with you.
Our total bill was under $40 for three lunches, two beers, a soda and juice.
I must also add that one of the brothers (I think Rick) stopped at our table twice and asked how the meal was, but also was talking with us and another table. A great friendly atmosphere, and unfortunately had my wife not had to go back to work, I could have stayed for at least another.
I highly recommend a stop at Davidson Brothers Restaurant & Brewery, I know I will be back...often. And, I will be sampling more beers soon, and envision a growler of Oatmeal Stout in my immediate future.

Stopped here for an Independence Day lunch while en route to Vermont (see reviews). Davidson Brothers is located on in an interesting old building in the middle of Main Street. It also has a spacious terrace area, which would have been pleasant had it not been raining. They are a small capacity establishment of 7 Barrels, yet have a diverse selection of craft beers. On tap was a mildly hopped ESB and a very quaffable smoked porter, which we took home in a growler. They also offer their specialty beer called Dacker. Great food, efficient service, a family-friendly atmosphere and a very affable and attentive owner makes this a worthwhile stop when in the Lake George area - or on the way to Vermont.

I visit Glens Falls perodically for work and from a friends advice, I stopped in...twice.
The first visit was on the night of my arrival. I sat down for my food when a gentleman came by and was talking to other patrons about the beer they had to offer. I then had to speak to him and found out that he is the owner/brewer of the bar! Rick was AWESOME to speak to. We talked beer and life until my food threatened to get cold so we stopped to continue later in the night; after I had more beer.
All of the beers were good, OK (sorry Rick) I didnt really like the ESB but what the hell. Still not a bad beer, but not as bitter as I would have liked.
The service was really good with a few younger kids who were fun to talk to and mess around with but were pretty much on their toes to serve you.
The beer selection and the food selection was nice. They pretty much had something for everyone. I ordered the Steak Tips the first night and was blown away. It also went well with the MegaHop IPA I was sipping on.
All in all, this was the best experience I have ever had in Glens Falls. Great staff, great food and beer, and not bad for the money.

On a snowy Saturay afternoon, went to Davidson Bros to enjoy lunch and a sampler of six of their beers.
The place has a nice pub feel. The servers were pretty quick and helpful with the beer menu. All the beers were good, some better than others. (I liked their Irish Red and Porter the best.) They all come in relatively large servings, so I could skip around and compare/contrast flavors.
I got the Bison burger which was declicious. They make their own potato chips on premises, and they were crispy and excellent. The food prices were a little high, but the lunch I had as worth the price.
It's a really nice place to spend an afternoon. Better than average beer, and excellent food.

the restaurant is along a nice main st. right off the roundabout bordering on a pedestrian alleyway filled with large plants and three or four top tables. the the bar itself is quite nice, cozy downstairs, but i understand they have seating upstairs. the quality of everything i received was very good. from the sampler of beers to the monte cristo with the raspberry melba, everything was quite tasty and well prepared. the value was definitely reasonable, especially taking into consideration the fifty percent off growler with the samples.

Loated on the main drag of Glens Falls, just past the traffic circle. The building occupies a nice corner location with and adjacent courtyard used for outdoor seating.
The interior was spacious and included dining on the first and second floors. The bar was located toward the front of the premises and the brewery equipment was viewable from the bar.
There were eight or so house beers on tap and six packs to go.
The food was typical pub fare, except for the soups, which were excellent.
The bartender was courteouse and attentive and seemed to have a good grasp of the house beers.
The interior was well appointed with many vintage accents and breweriana.

A very nice place located in the heart of Glens Falls, near the civic center, the downstairs has a high open ceiling that makes the smallish space feel much bigger than it is. A dining room (and some video games) are located upstairs. I sat at the bar for lunch on friday.
I thought it was surprisingly empty for friday at 1 oclock. Service was good. A knowledgeable bartender. 9 of their own beers on tap, dated with ABV on a chalkboard. Fairly standard upstate NY pub grud, the burger and fries were solid, if not outstanding. Average prices as well.
Had a few of their beers, which were all tasty.
Definately a place I would return to on my next trip through.

I discovered this place a few months ago, and since then it's become my favorite place to grab a pint and fill my growlers. Luckily it's only ten minutes from exit 18 on Route 87 (about 45 minutes north of Albany). Two Davidson Brothers growlers* live in my trunk, and each time I make a weekend run to my camp in the Adirondacks I swing by and fill them with Brown Ale.
I get a great vibe from this place. The bar staff always seems friendly, and quite happy to talk about beers and brewing. They help with the brewing, so you can hoist a pint while getting some inside information about how it was made. I particularly enjoy chatting with a friendly graying-haired gentleman named Bob, who enjoys a good conversation about their beers and brewing processes.
I find the beer itself to be extraordinary. It might not be the best beer I've ever had, but whenever I drink a pint I'm struck by how well-balanced the taste is. I love their IPA, ESB, Irish Red, and Kerry Ale, but to me the real crowning glory is their beautifully nutty Brown Ale. It's at least the second most drinkable beer I've ever had. Those two growlers of brown have been a big part of some fabulous weekends at camp.
There are a few downsides which don't turn me away by any means, but are worth mentioning. The bar staff are always running around from one end of the room to the other, so each step in the "drink, fill the growlers, get my check, pay" process takes an unexpectedly long time. Also, the bar area is rather small, and on Friday nights (the only time I can get there) the musicians are jammed in right next to it so that you can hardly hear anyone speak. It doesn't help that the musicians ain't exactly world-class.
My rating of the food is based on the one meal I ate there: A burger & fries which weren't bad at all.
*Incidentally, they have the cutest and most functional growlers I've ever seen. They're thick, easy to pour, and aesthetically pleasing, with a low center of gravity and a great seal.

I visited this brewpub on a recent visit to the Lake George area. The pub is on a corner and is easy to find in downtown glens falls, right on the main drag. Main entrance is down a little side "alley". Walking in there is a rectangular wooden bar to the left some tables and chairs set up as well. We took a seat for lunch in some chairs next to the window. Lots of wooden walls and floor. Beer selection is on large chalkboard with brewed date and ABV..Scotch ale "out" oatmeal stout "out" oh oh.
I went with the brown ale which was VERY NICE. English style so milder flavors but well blended.
Food is typical pub grub with some interesting soups. I had a maple BBQ chicken sandwich which is like a pulled pork only chicken. It was nice and juicy. OUr server was prompt and helpful with decribing some potential snowshoeing locations for us to check out later in our visit. Overall this was a great little spot with good beer and yummy food. Definitely worth checking out if youre in the Lake George area.

Great atmosphere. I'm working on a project in the area and decided to stop in and grab a bite and some brew. I've had the fish tacos, beer cheese soup, and the calamari appetizer. All good so far, but calamari a was a little soggy. Now onto the brew; Oatmeal stout is very good; I've been back to fill the growlers five times so far. Also enjoy their coffee stout, had a growler fill on that. Rick Davidson, owner, is always out and about greeting customers and adding to the great atmosphere. Will be back!
