A - Cloudy orange with white head. Not a lot of retention and decent lacing.

S - Strong sour citrus flavors

T - Nice citrus hop with earthy malts. Typical Belgian style orange yeast flavors without any of the banana flavors.

M - Medium body and light carbonation. Somewhat sticky and resinous.

O - I do the Belgian IPA hybrid and the flavors in this are nice and balanced. Not a bad beer but also not too exciting.

22oz bomber into a standard pint glass.

A- Thick and hazy burnt orange color, 1-finger fluffy white head. Head tapers but remains a solid film on top of the beer, lots of falling rings of lacing. All making for a pretty cool looking pour.

S- It smells more Belgian ale than IPA to me. There are hop aromas but the smells of banana, pear, spices, and mild yeast make up a subtle yet undeniable Belgian Ale blend.

T- The citrus comes out here. I pick up some mineral flavor and what I call, if only slightly, pickle juice. The Belgian stuff is there, too.

M- A complex mix that has good body and feel. Good carbonation, spicy hop zip.

O- The abv, 5.5%, rounds out this brew nicely, allowing it to shine.

Pours a nice big fluffy 2 finger head that fades semi slowly with nice soapy spotty lacing, pillowy head, slightly hazy honey orange color.

Nose brings a really interesting Belgian beer aroma, a light Belgian golden malt and a sweet candy reddish malt, faint esters, with a light fruity aroma, and into a lemony aroma, some from hops and some from yeast I think, fruity but slightly grassy hops, slight lemongrass but a light pear apple like fruit, light floral hops and floral yeast characters, slight herbal earthy aroma both from hops and yeast characters. Hints of grapefruit and citrus hide in teh background but I can find them. Quite floral overall and pretty nice.

Taste in pretty much what they call it, a blend of Belgian and East Coast American IPA. Hops bring a combination of earthy slightly spicy characters, little earthy and herbal as well. Fruity flavors are great, like I'm biting into a peach, great peach character somehow, then light tangerine, hint of grapefruit and other tropical fruits that i can't put a finger on. hops keep up with bitterness and get fairly bitter and bring a nice grassy spicy flavor. Then into Belgian flavors, light Belgian malts not really golden just Belgian somehow, and light esters and fruity flavors from the yeast, and quite floral as well. That slightly tropical fruit realyl keeps nagging at me, I wish I could nail down which fruit it is. Finish is dry and quite bitter, a nice spicy slightly earthy and grassy hop lingering, with a bit more of the tropical fruit, peach and tangerine like flavors lingering, with light Belgian esters and floral yeast additions.

Mouth is med bodied, nice carb.

Overall fairly impressed, it's quite a tasty beer, with lots of nice fruit characters, esters, Belgian yeast additions, and the American hops add a nice twist to it and bring a nice bitter quality but don't overpower it and get too bitter. I bet most people that rated this low either wanted more hops, or less hops, this seems to take a nice middle ground that balances with the Belgian characters well, and great fruit flavors and aromas. Quite tasty, my fav from Cody so far.

nice and clear copper color with a slightly off white head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass.
aroma is very bready with not much hop character.
the taste is a lot of grapefruit and caramel/toast but slightly muted by the yeast. there is a lingering bitterness that is a little annoying.
not sure cascade was the right fit for this beer but im glad I tried it. not bad not great.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on February 17, 2012.

It pours a copper-amber color and about medium in tone and cloudy. The small head does not last long.

Floral hops and grapefruit esters highlight the aroma but not much in the way of Belgian sugars. The yeast can be picked up though.

Medium body.

On the other hand, the taste starts out with a noted malty and sweet character for the first second and then this hop bite kicks in at the end coating the back of my throat for an extended period of time. Nicely done.

A cloudy, dark copper colored IPA with a huge eggshell colored, foamy head that leaves a minefield of lacing. The aroma says mineral citrus with some soapy clove. A little different but it grows on you with that Belgian personality. The flavor is dominated by yeast though a shy clove-citrus hop sneaks through. Again, I pick up a mineral idea with some deep wheat and a pleasant hop subtlety. This stuff is medium bodied with a light but frothy feel. I wish there was a bigger hop presence rather than the yeast-heavy personality, but overall it grows on me and it works. I am now encouraged to try more from this brewer.

Served from a 22oz bomber into a 3 Horses specialty glass.
A: Beautiful burnt amber colour with relatively high transparency.
S: Hoppy, with some breadiness, and a pretty strong citrus zest.
T: Really a nice sipping Belgian. A bit spicy and yeasty, with just enough hops.
M: Spicy hop bite makes for a crisp, refreshing drink.
O: Incredibly drinkable, and reminds me of tripels. This is the kind of 22oz bottle that one could enjoy a couple of in a row, though. Stimulating to the senses and very enjoyable!
