Pours a real odd looking kind of brown amber. When I took a whiff of the nose, I actually made a verbal outburst. Real caramel and malt tones. Flavor is damn near revolting. Seems a cluster-f**k of malts. Not good at all. Seems an appreciated beer. Maybe I got a bad bottle? I dunno. (I'll probably never know for sure.)

The colour is brown-red. It is surprisingly dark for a pale ale. The fine two finger head is compact and pale warm beige. It sinks slowly, leaving very little lacing.
The smell is fresh and very British: Fruity-flowery, bitter and a bit sweet (milk chocolate?) with a roasted touch.
The taste is smooth and balanced with a fresh hoppy flowery flavour. It not overly bitter. There is a smooth sweet notes with hints of nuts and cocoa. The mellow aftertaste got hints of caramalt (chocolate candy, toffee) and a mild fruity bitterness in the finish.
The carbonation is mild, the very small bubbles are fresh. The liquid is smooth, almost like a real ale.
A very intriguing and very British pale ale/bitter.

The beer is a clear dark amber with hints of copper, an off-white rather small head that leaves very little lacing.
The smell is mainly malty, sweet fruity aromas, raisins and figs, some citric notes, lemon and orange.
The taste is rather sweet, honey, apricots, sweet dark bread, some grassy and floral notes, and a rather balanced bitterness at the end.
Medium carbonation, rather smooth feeling, some spritzy whirls but yet a dry finish.
In all a well balanced and good ale. Goes nice with not too spicy barbecue.

The bottle is a 50 cl short-necked brown boring-looking one. The Green and black label's got a pic of a ship's steering wheel.
A: The pour is copper with a small compact off-white head. Some lacings.
S: Buttery smell, very english. Caramell malt together with floral hops. There are both citric notes as well as red berries.
T: Very like the smell, but with everything just a bit thinner.
M: Very smooth, mediumbodied beer with mild carbonation. Aftertaste is medium-long and holds nice bitterness.
D: A beer that has a bit of lot of things. Nothing to write home about though.
