I first visited the Funky Buddah in late 2009 before they moved into their current location which now services as a lounge, brewery and homebrew supply shop. I've been back many times since and it has grown to be my very favorite local spot for good beer and good times. Ryan, Kevin, Giani and all the supporting staff are wonderful, friendly, inviting and accomodating people who always make sure you have a full glass and full smile. They always have several of their own brews on tap along with a few guest taps, which have ranged anywhere from the standards (Magic Hat #9, Naragansett Lager) to full-blown tap takeover events, such as the one held by Cigar City Brewing recently. Funky Buddah's own brews are always phenomenal, and some of their specialty ones have found them nationwide notoriety, such as Maple Bacon Coffee Porter and No Crusts PB&J ale. The atmosphere is the most comfortable I've found as far as beer bars go. There are plenty of tables, both inside and outside, and even a few couches and large, comfy chairs. Things can get a little crowded during some of their bigger beer events or concerts, but you can usually grab a seat in the equally comfortable homebrew shop next door and avoid paying a cover for a show if you're just there for the beer. The only complaint I would have is that whenever there is a musical act on stage, it seems like the speaker volume is WAY too high. I find myself unable to hear the person talking right in front of me, and we usually adjourn our drinking to the outside tables or homebrew shop if it's open. Other than that, I absolutely love the Funky Buddha. I'm a proud member of their Snifter Club and they always come up with new and exciting beers, like the Bonita Applebum apple pie ale. I have also attended one of their homebrew classes and plan to buy all my homebrew equipment and ingredients there. Prices are always fair, especially for club members who get specials on Buddha brews and extended happy hour. To be honest, this place makes me wish I were single so I could spend more time there and not feel guilty!

Came here withthe wife on our way down to the Florida Keys.
Located in crappy strip mall setting, the exterior was underwhelming and definitely not what I expected. Open the door and you are magically taken to hipster town. Nice atmosphere with a stage for live music.
Service at the bar was good, one of the new brewers waited on us and shared much about the different beers and told us about other breweries in the area.
Beer was solid, we tried so of the berliner varieties which were our favorite, but sadly MBCS not here all the time like it should be.
Prices were fair, I think $8 for sampler and 5$ for pint.
Great experience, will stop by again. We missed wide awake by one day!

The best beers around, period. Seriously people, I will try anything the Buddha makes, including the Berliner Weiss that I am not a fan of, some of theirs I have enjoyed. Founders member for the new production brewery opening soon, its been amazing seeing them grow from the beginning to where they are now. MY FAVORITE BEERS AND MY FAVORITE BEER BAR!

Visited on a Monday during the tail end of Happy Hour. Should begin that I was very skeptical of this highly hyped place at the outset.
Located in a past-its-prime ugly strip mall off a busy road. Few tables outside - who the hell would ever sit there?
Neat looking hipster joint on the inside. Large stage to the right, collection of couches, tables, high back chairs, etc. Comfy. Friend & I sat down & waited for service...& waited...& waited...even though only a few other folks there. Finally took matters into my own hands & went to the bar myself to order some beers. More waiting while the barkeep tended to various duties
1st up was the Hefe - meh. On par with a Widmer Hefe...drinkable with no obvious flaws but forgettable. Ok maybe the next beer, a Porter, will cheer me up.
Porter was a 1 trick pony with just a roast flavor & no depth or character. Why do I hear about people in NYC & Philly lining up & geeking out over this brewery? Aha - they have an IPA on tap....that must be the star of the show.
As it turns oh the IPA was the biggest train wreck of all. Loaded with Diacetyl & virtually no hop presence whatsoever. I might say it was just an "off" batch but seeing how other basic styles weren't show stoppers, its probably par for the course. Perhaps FB can only brew beer with bacon & pineapple to mask brewing faults?
Split a hookah with my friend which was enjoyable, but wasn't willing to drink any other FB beers.
