On tap at Churchkey. Served in a mini snifter. Pours a clear golden-yellow color with a white head. That’s about all that resembles an IPA in this one. The nose is just over-the-top fresh ginger with nothing else. This is carbonated ginger liquid. I can’t get any hop aroma. To the taste. Nope, no hops there either. Just more ginger and some carbonation. Very seltzer-like. Some ginger spice and heat; no real bitterness. The ginger is done nicely, but for what purpose? It overrides what I can assume is beer underneath and leaves nothing in the way of complexity, beer flavor, or even any real general enjoyment.

On tap at Churchkey DC served in a snifter. I guess I should have realized from the name what this beer was going to be. I guess I'm not automatically loading my pop culture garbage into my mind. Daywalker = ginger. Got it. I was honestly excited for this beer, at least it was a palate cleanser, that is about as nice as I can be to this beer because I found it overwhelmingly ginger horrid.
Beer is maber and clear with a thin white head, looks nice.
Aroma is strong and ginger. No hops.
No hops, medium to light in body, dry finish, strong strong ginger beer. This is like drinking ginger extract. Nope, striking out here FB.

I had this on-tap at Capone's during Philly beer week. Served in a 5 oz snifter.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy reddish amber color with a small amount of off white head that goes away completely.
Smell: Freshly minced ginger with a touch of malt sweetness. If there are any hops here, the ginger is kicking their butt.
Taste: Tons of ginger up front, definitely can't mistake that flavor. Enough malt sweetness in the background with a citrus ginger hop bitterness in the finish. The hops and ginger mix rather well.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with tingly carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: Tons of ginger in this brew. I enjoyed the combination with the hops. A very interesting and good beer.

On tap at Capone's during PBW.
My first FB beer...
The beer pours a reddish amber color with minimal head retention and lacing. The nose is just unbelievable in this beer, as I got a huge aroma of clove, ginger, cinnamon and dark pepper. The beer is pretty exotic on the palate as well, but it really doesn't match the nose. The flavor profile is otherwise dominated by clove and ginger, with just a hint of citrus and bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium bodied to full, and I'm surprised that this beer isn't sweeter, given all the exotic spices in this beer. Alcohol is barely an afterthought, though you can tell there is some.
Another amazing beer from FB. Not sure how much I could drink of this, or if I even really liked it, but there's no doubt I was very impressed.

A-deep hazy amber color with a nice white head and good lacing
S-hints of pine and some citrus with a nice ginger essence overlaying
T-some pine and malt with hints of citrus and a bold ginger flavor
F-medium body with moderate carbonation, crisp
O-an interesting IPA variant with nice ginger flavor, wouldn't want to drink this regularly, but would pair nicely with some foods

First had: on tap at Capone's, Norristown, PA
Served in a mini-snifter, this beer poured a fairly hazy vermilion color, with a small cap of delicate white bubbles for a head. Aroma: you want ginger? You got it. Lots and lots of it too, right in your nose, with lesser notes of piney hops coming through as well. Taste delivered what it promised; raw ginger, not subtle or spicy like in so many other beers I've tried, but obvious ginger root front and center. After that mellows out a bit, secondary flavors of dry roasty malts and piney hops come through, keeping this beer from being one-dimensional. About medium bodied, quite potent in the flavor department, very nice overall. Drinkability really depends on how much you like ginger. I'd imagine this would go great with sushi.

22 oz, unlabeled bottle. I believe this is the first bottle to make it out of Florida, haha! Thanks to Ryan at FB for providing specifics (proper name, ABV)
A - This beer pours a beautiful deep amber colour. Slight chill haze but quite clear. Edges are sunflower to light copper. The head is absolutely amazing. Pretty much textbook. 1.5 fingers, tiny bubbles, perpetual and leggy lacing.
S - I get a flaky wheaty whiff right off the bat but also drying pine hoppiness. The slightly tangy ginger is in the back end but not dominant.
T - It's called a ginger IPA for a reason, very prevalent on the front and back end. The ginger provides a slightly sweet/sour tang to the beer which is aided by the bittering piney hops. This beer is very well balanced with the contrasting, strong characteristics of the hops and ginger. The caramel addition to the profile from the malts also helps but is not as strong as it could have been.
M - Spritzy, refreshing, crisp. Perfect summer quencher
O - The FB lounge is putting out consistent winners. I wouldn't consider this my favourite beer I've had from them but it is solid. FB seems to have a hold on expressing, and balancing, flavours that would otherwise be overwhelming (i.e. maple, bacon, ginger, etc..). Great work FB.
