I was a little disappointed. I was so excited to try the hefe since it was the first time we could get it in Colorado. Sorry to say but I will probably never buy it again, I will stick to the local brews instead. Epic failure on this one, but they did redeem themselves with the Dark Seas.

bottle into a new belgium globe glass. opaque butterscotch yellow with no head to speak of. no lace either.
smell is bread, sour fruits, pineapple, and pretzels.
taste is mostly sour citrus.
mouthfeel is creamy and chewy. decent carbonation, even though it looks completely flat.
overall, I really wanted to like this one, but it was just very average to me.

On tab in San Diego- Poured into a pint glass. Medium amber/copper with a minimal head. A touch on the darker side for a hefe. Smell is a bit subdued. A little banana/cloves but not much else, a little disappointing. Taste is the typical fruity, malty hefe on the front, but finishes with a hint of metalic bitter/sourness. I get some orange and bread as well, but a bit of an aftertaste. Feel is nothing spectacular. Okay carbonation and a tad thick for the style. Overall- It's a pretty average hefe that brings nothing special to the table. It would be a lot better and more sessionable minus the sour/metalic finish. Won't seek it out, but would drink a free one if offered-

12oz bottle from CJ's Potsdam NY for 2$
Appearance – Hazy amber colour with an average size fizzy off-white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation and there is some faint lacing. The head lasted for around 3-4 minutes before it was gone.
Smell - Grains/wheat, bananas, a rustiness/metallic notes
Taste & Mouth - The beer has an average amount of carbonation. I can taste grains/bread mixed with lots of citric acid and some banana. There is also some light spices/yeast notes. It ends with a tart citric acid aftertaste.
Overall – Some shades of a sour with this beer.. it really isn't as drinkable as it should be. It seems like a poorly made beer and not something I'd buy again.

A - this hefe pours a thick hazy honey orange, with a thin white head that disspates almost immediately, several streams of steady carbonation meander to the top
S - some big spice notes, especially nutmeg or coriander along with some non-hoppy citrus zest aromas
T - the spice characteristics are less defined in the taste than in the aroma, more of a spice amalgam. and they lose some bite in favor ofsome tart sweetness, which is nota good thing. some maltsmake an appearance in the back of the sip mellowing out the spice and yeast qualities
M&D - overall, not the best Hefe I have had, maybe on par with Sam Adams, but it is of quality and has good taste. a great session Hefe, would make an excellent introductory beer to a craft beer newbie, would also be an excellent sitting-on-the-porch-after-mowing-the-lawn beer
