On draught at HUB, appearence is gold with a small off-white collar that leaves light lace.

Smell is pungent, citrus hops, lime.

Taste is also big hops, tangerine, with bready malt, moderate bitterness on the orange candy finish.

Mouthfeel is slippery, medium light bodied.

Drinkability is high, another delicous, sessionable hop bomb from HUB.

A - very hazy burnt orange, tall off white head, held well at a finger leaving plenty of spot lacing
S - pleasant mandarin citrus, pepper, grain, some grass and metallic notes, very clean and hoppy
T - peppery and orange citrus hops up front, grainy malt with some toasted bread, citrus rind present to finish
M - medium to bigger body, solid carbonation, sweet and somewhat spicy with a lightly bitter finish
O - this turns out to be a very good example of featured hop, the citrus and somewhat spicy quality of cascade dominates as it should, very well done

650ml bomber poured into tulip 15/10/12

A clear golden liquid with slow tiny bubbles throughout, a thumbs width of foam quickly falls to a thin film but still manages to leave several rings of lace

S floral citrus with some very faint pine and a little toffee, there's some leafy hops and just a little tea bag, pretty simple nose but nice

T a little rind and more toffee then the smell, everything else is still there, leafy herbal tea notes and again simple but solid

M medium bodied with a mild bitter kick, fine grit on the gums and a little sticky on the lips, lingering earthy herbal citrus tea on the finish

O all-around good beer, not a bad use of Cascade and I normally find this hop a little.... hold your breath everyone...boring on its own, whew, it felt good to get that off my chest

I've yet to have a bad beer from these guys, in fact this may be my least favorite and its pretty darn good. I doubt I'd buy this again if its beside their IPA on the shelf but I'm by no means upset I bought it

Big ups to SatlyMalty for this brew. Poured into a Dogfish signature snifter. No freshness date.

A- Pours a medium amber color with a two finger head that retains well before losing its fluff and dissipating down to a thick ring outlining the glass. Random bubbly foam on the surface and a protruding ring of lace.

S- Modest hop aroma that's vegetal and somewhat grassy. Decent malt backing.

T- Incredibly smooth and laid back for an IPA with the cascade hops making just enough of an appearance to justify it as such. Bitter, but only minimally so as the malt content brings a balance that's rarely found in brews like this where the hops are intended to be the main focus. Notes of celery leaves, cucumber and maybe brussel sprouts?

M- Dry with a bit of sharpness from the hops and alcohol. Medium carbonation and a full-ish body for the style.

O- Lies somewhere between a pale ale and IPA due to the emphasis on malt and the simplicity of the one hop varietal that isn't overly used. Very drinkable while still having some hop bite to satisfy hopheads looking for something sessionable.

Poured into a Black Raven pint glass. Pours a slightly hazy medium golden amber, with a healthy two finger off-white head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus and fresh hops with a interesting herbal/fruit aroma; glad to get a good whiff of fresh Cascade hops. Flavor is biscuit malt and fresh grassy, slightly floral and grapefruit hops. Finishes lightly citrus and faintly piney. Good balance of malt and hops. Somewhat understated compared to other NW IPAs, but great to have the chance to taste Cascade hops nicely supported by a good malt backbone, a pleasant IPA. Medium bodied. I look forward to tasting other varieties in this series. Will buy again.

Bottle from the Whole Foods in Tanasbourne. Listed at 60 IBUs, made with all-organic ingredients but lacking in mention of a bottled-on date.

Pouring a mostly clear amber with a dense, creamy, beige head with excellent retention and some lacing. The nose is pretty nice! I'm usually not a fan of Cascades, but this beer brings out the best characteristics, especially on the nose. Mildly fruity with grapefruit, a nice blend of flesh and pith, with minimal astringency. Some caramel is present, but since this beer is super fresh (10-12 days, per their website), the dry hops dominate. A little bit of chalk is also noticeable.

The palate opens with a blend of lighter crystal malt and moderate bitterness. The bitterness is clean, with some refreshing grapefruit flesh, mildly juicy and a touch of pith. Definitely sweeter than ideal, especially since the candied notes from the crystal malt (IMO) work better with a brighter citrus note (oranges, lemons) than with the more pungent (lime, grapefruit). Drying on the finish with some nice bitterness, this beer is medium-light in body with a nice, creamy carbonation. The hoppy notes on the finish are mildly grassy and minimally chalky. Quite nice.

Pours a golden color body with a two finger white head, lots of bubbles.

Grapefruit and sweet tropical fruit in the aroma with some slight pine notes.

Lots of piney and grapefruit flavors backed by slight tropical fruit flavors. Decent amount of bitterness to it, not too much and not too little. Leaves a dry, bitter finish.

Medium body with a nice amount of carbonation. Feels smooth and easy to drink.

A nice showing of a Cascade single hop IPA from Hopworks.

A: Poured a hazed deep rusty gold color with good carbonation leaving a moderate white cap, good amount of bubbles and light lacing

S: Nose is fresh citrus and a little green and herbal too but pretty faint to be double dry hopped, actually underwhelming

T: Initial floral and citrus one-two punch. Midway I get some caramel, more citrus and a light dash of pine but the bitterness picks up a bit leaving a convoluted but rather dry finish.

M: Medium bodied, well carbonated. Plenty of citrus and floral notes on the palate.

O: Good overall. I di wish it was a bit more aromatic.

Glass: Nonic pint glass

Appearance: Tan, hazy, thin frothy head.

Smell: sweet malty, floral, citrusy, slight caramel notes.

Taste: Strong citrusy hops, biscuity malt flavor followed by a hoppy finish.

Mouthfeel: thick full bodied, slightly creamy in texture. Strong carbonation and a strong hoppy finish.

This brew has a sweetness to the aroma but there is little to no sweetness in the flavor of it. I was surprised it didn't have a strong grapefruit aroma or flavor.

A: Coppery-bronze with a white head, not much retention but it leaves a nice lace.

S: Aroma is much more subtle than expected... Grapefruit juice, marmalade, sponge toffee.

T: Grapefruit juice, marmalade & sponge toffee come through in the flavour as well. Some nice underlying biscuit flavour from the malt. Solid bitterness that's not at all harsh (low cohumulone, nobel-like hop), alcohol is subtle, slight oxidation.

M: Well-attenuated, moderate body has a light hop acidity.

O: An old-school American IPA that's easy drinking, but almost seems tame by todays standards.

650ml bottle. What? Book-learnin' on my beer label? Helll no!

This beer pours a glassy, medium golden amber hue, with one finger of thinly foamy, bubbly off-white head, which leaves some wasted hoodoo lace around the glass as it quickly abates.

It smells of sharp, musty citrus hops, a pale grainy maltiness, a twinge of caramel, and further leafy, earthy bitterness. The taste is bitter orange and lemon rind, some mild bready caramel, an evolving overripe pineapple character, overbrewed herbal tea leaves, and a somewhat dank earthiness.

The bubbles are neither distracting nor sedate, the body a weak middleweight, and just a bit too ascerb to render as all that smooth. It finishes mostly dry, the muted citrus fruitiness ceding almost entirely to the musty, floral, teabag-esque bitterness.

Not exactly what I was expecting for a single hop experiment with the Cascade hop - rather than a crisp grapefruit and pine needle affront, we get a tame, muddled, herbal offering. Maybe it's the organic influence, maybe not. Does this varietal thrive in the presence of fertilizers and the like? Anyway, an agreeable enough quaff, once the classroom trope is dropped and forgotten.

Pours a dark honey with a quilt of soapy whites. Smells of grapefruit, english pale malts and some crystal, a bit of oxidation and tea character. Flavor is bitter with a good bit of resin and grapefruit, malts are dry with a bit of vinous character. Body is medium on full with moderated carb and a slick finish. Meh, beer is okay. Their normal IPA is much better.
