12 oz on tap at Beermongers. Reviewed from notes
A: Deep red with thin lacing. Glides off the glass well which I'd say is standard for a lager.
N: There's a very pronounced hop presence. Grapefruit, pine, and plenty of earthy spices. Some grassy and floral notes.
T: Heavy citrus/grapefruit, unlike the nose which tended towards an 'elemental' nature. (Get it, earth, air, wind, fire? These things write themselves). The pine and grassyness linger. Malt base is subdued, but it does lend some biscuit notes.
M: Light and refreshing while still having some staying power.
O: A home run, and one which I'll gladly have time and again. (I made some comments about Humulus Lager which is the only other 'lager' I've had with this kind of hop presence.) Deschutes and HUB, please make this again. Please.

Cool screen printer bottle from HUB and Deschutes opened on 6.24.12.
A - Pours a reddish-amber with a one inch light tan head that lingers and leaves lots of lacing.
S - Some hop citrus and and amber like malts.
T - Sweet fruit and carmel malts. Slight hops.
D - Good carbonation and a medium body.
O - Roasted carmel malt body with some hop citrus hanging around.

22oz : tulip pint
Clear amber-red with a thick foamy light tan head.
Pleasant piney hops upfront, well balanced with lightly sweet biscuit, toasty malt.
Fair balance of mild piney hops and lightly sweet toasty biscuit, as in the nose.
Full bodied, with moderate carbonation.
Well done, easy drinking lager with lots of flavor.

Appearance- Deep red/mahogany in color. The head is a sticky, light tan color. 4.5
Smell- Piney, resinous. The malt plays a small sweet part, but the hops steal the show. 4.5
Taste- Piney hops accompanied by a sweet malt background. The hop bitterness is not in your face but sticks around just the same. 4.5
Mouthfeel- This is a bigger mouthfeel than expected for a lager. The crispness that I associate with lager is not there. This drinks more like an ale. 4
Overall- Very well done beer! I had the Hopworks and the Deschutes versions side by side (on tap) and this was my favorite of the two. The Deschutes version is much more malty sweet. I am glad they bottled this one. I will be buying more of this. I hope it is around town on taps for awhile. I also hope this isn't the last time we see it. 4.5
