T: Quite sweet, ample amount of bourbon, and some espresso bitterness.
M: Moderate body that’s more double dry stout. Oily.
O: Well executed stout i would gladly have again.

On tap at HUB brewery.
L: Black as pitch with a couple finger creamy lacy head.
S: Oak and bourbon, roasted malts, cocoa, coffee.
T: Follows the nose with dark fruits also. A sweet sipper.
F: Full silky smooth body with a backbone of bitterness. Very nice.
O: Super well made. I've hoped for years to find it in a bottle!

On tap at bier stein the other day.
The beer pours a blackish brown color with excellent head retention and considerable sticky lacing all around. The beer is an impressive on the nose as well, a I pick up a considerable amouth of bourbon and chocolate, along with some light coffee, vanilla and a hint of licorice. The flavor profile replicates the nose pretty closely, with once again the bourbon and chocolate front and forward. Interestingly, the beer struck me as a bit thin on the palate, which surprised me, given the abv. in this beer. The beer seemed to be medium bodied at most, but was fairly smooth otherwise, the beer finished well. The beer is moderately sweet, but the bourbon flavor tames that sweetness quite well. Alcohol is very well integrated into the flavor profile, and frankly, I would not have guessed that the abv. was that high.
Very nice beer from the folks at HUB.

Beautiful 12oz pour in goblet at brouwers. Big wood edition. Dark and opaque, tan head.
smell is huge. Alcohol, a little wild, a little sweet.
taste s amazingly mellow for the high ABV. Initial flavors of roast, coffee, and sweetness. Melows a little too quickly for my liking. Too simple, honestly. Hopped about right but needing of more roast, more oak.
very drinkable, should go well with my upcoming lamb burger. :)

A: Had this on tap the other night at Hawthorne hop house. Pours a pitch black color into snifter, nice sized tan head with slight lace down the glass.
S: Smells of bourbon, oak, roasted dark malt, chocolate, and slight cocconut.
T: Sweet malt up front followed by nice roasted malt flavor. Slight cocconut flavor in there.
M: Full bodied beer, silky smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol is well hidden and it isnt too syrupy, mouthfeel is very nice.
O: I loved this beer, this is right up there with the Abyss if you ask me, excellent beer.
