Thanks to JohnnySmiles for bringing me this from the land of beer(Oregon).
Opped it and poured it into a tulip. Very little head. I would say maybe a fingers worth. Maybe slightly under that. Off-white in color. Poured a redish amber looking color almost brown.
Was smelling some piney notes with a rich carmelly malt base.
Tasted delightful. Those carmel malts really came out. Very sweet and almost syrupy like. Almost tastes along the lines of a barleywine.
I would definately say give it a go if you have the chance. Once again a wonderful product from Hopworks!

A - very hazy swampy reddish brown, one finger of tan head held respectably, decent random lacing as it receded
S - candied fruits, dark toasted bread, pepper, and caramel, smells very much like an ESB
T - pepper and raisins up front, molasses maltiness, touch of pine hops, just like the nose i find the flavour to be very ESB like
M - towards the heavy side, somewhat spicy with a healthy bitter finish
O - bottle says imperial red, its categorized on here as a DIPA, and I think it tastes like an ESB which in some ways is in between those two, so all in all a solid brew that is big tasting yet sneaky drinkable for 9.5%, price was a bit high relative to previous HUB bombers in Alberta but thats a minor detail

Draft at the Pine Box in Seattle, WA.
Pours a cloudy dark copper color with golden amber edges and a 1.5 finger off-white head that quickly settles into a lasting ring. Streaks of lacing left behind.
Earthy floral hop aroma with lots of dank, resinous pine needle character countered by subtle citrus and sweet malt. Rthe hop profile is sort of one dimensional with only fait hits of grapefruit and citrus rind countering the soil-like, earthy pine presence. As it warms, the malt profile comes a bit more toward the forefront but never gets in the way of he hops. Hints of caramel, toffee and biscuit provide sweetness and prevent it from just smelling like a plant.
On the fuller end of medium bodied with a blast of dry, sticky hops that provides a lingering bitterness which dominates the flavor. Very earthy and bitter with tons of grassy pine needle flavor that's countered by a sweet malt backbone. Hints of caramel, toffee, hazelnut and biscuit give off enough sweetness for balance without hurting the strong hop flavors. Could use a bit more complexity in the hop flavor but overall it's a nicely balanced hop bomb that's surprisingly easy to drink considering the high ABV and intense hop character.

650ml bottle poured into tulip 7/7/12
A glowing amber with with just a few visible bubbles but a finger of beige foam that slowly falls to a thin film leaving just a few specks of lace
S piney toffee at first followed by some tropical notes, and candied fruit, smells a little sweet with just a little booze but nowhere near 9.5%
T a touch of earth on top of what I smell with some rind and burnt brown sugar, perhaps even more pine and toffee then I smell. there's somehow a little balance but its definitely a hop bomb
M shes bitter but 100+IBU's I'd never guess, a little sticky and just enough bubbles too give it some life, no booze anywhere and a lingering citric aftertaste
O its a solid beer but not the best I've had from Hopworks, perhaps I got an old bottle because I'm surprised how the malts catching up too the hops
its a good beer for sure but I don't quite understand the 16$ price tag, I'd drink this again if 10$ was shaved off the cost. I expected more for the cash but it was enjoyable and pretty easy to drink considering the strength

650ml bottle. Nice old-school Space Invaders imagery on the painted label - the laser cannon is a long neck, whuh?
This beer pours a somewhat hazy medium bronzed amber hue, with two fingers of thinly puffy dirty beige head, which leaves a complete coral reef of lace around the glass as it quickly recedes.
It smells of fairly prominent grapefruit and orange citrus hops, some lesser pine resin notes, grainy, biscuity, and foremost caramel malt, with an industrial alcohol edge probing the boundaries. The taste is still pretty damned hoppy, the varied American breakfast table fruit well ensconced, but it all seems to have been taken down a significant notch, allowing the burgeoning caramel and toffee-tinged malt to undermine all. This is a boon to the general balance of this whole deal, and most welcome (uh, I left my Hophead membership card in my other pants), along with a crazily AWOL booze component.
The bubbles are pretty well petered out after an initial pre-pour effervescent display, the body a steady, unassuming medium weight, and default-setting smooth. It finishes rather off-dry, the now-emboldened malt claiming reign, over a bristling, still zippy and bitter citrus/pine hoppiness.
A pretty well-wrought big-ass amber ale/DIPA, whatever, this swats balls (and encroaching aliens) without apology - tasty enough from both barrels, and is conspiratorial in its increasingly incredible alcohol obfuscation. Tread lightly, if possible, and barring that - enjoy the ride.

On tap at the pub.
A - Poured a clear reddish amber with a thin cream colored head. The head fades quickly but leaves spots of lacing on the glass.
S - Not much here. Some sweet bready malts and heat.
T - Similar to the smell. Sweet bread and malty.
D - Decent carbonation and a light, thin body.
O - Hot and lifeless. Not a ton of flavor here.
