Bottle pours a crystal clear light goolden body with a small white head. Poor retention and just a few specks of lacing on the glass.

Aroma is subtle but features grassy and herbal hops, a hint of fruity green apple, and some toasted grain.

Mouthfeel is light bodied and crisply carbonated.

Taste has a prevailing herbal and grassy bitterness that is balanced by just a hint of honey sweetness. Clean but slightly grainy malt base. Finishes crisp and dry.

Very well crafted kolsch. One of the better warm weather beers I've run across in awhile.

12 ounce bottle poured into a Alchemist strange

a: pale yellow fizzy beer. Lots of carbonation.

s: clean smell, slight sweetness. not much there.

t: similar to the smell, sweet malt, light caramel, white grapes

m: highly carbonated and easy drinking!

This would make a great lawnmower beer. Nice, refreshing, straight forward beer!

Served on tap at Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton, VA.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium golden yellow in color with heavy amounts of visible carbonation and some brighter yellow highlights visible. The beer has a half finger tall white head that reduces to a very thin film covering the majority of the surface of the beer with a couple of smaller slightly thicker patches and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to significant amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of bready malts with some light to moderate amounts of grassy and herbal hops.

T: Moderate flavors of bready malts with lighter notes of citrus/lemon, grassy hops, and herbal hops. Light to moderate amounts of lingering bitterness.

M: On the lighter side of medium bodied with heavy amounts of carbonation.

O: Extremely easy to drink with the lower ABV, refreshing taste, and pleasant flavors. Definitely worth having again and something I could see being easily sessionable on a warm summer evening sitting out on the patio. Pretty well balanced as the beer is not too sweet.

From notes on 03/10/12:
On-tap at the brewery/restaurant; Poured in a pint glass.

A - Came with a thin layer of white, creamy head that disappears quickly; Very clear appearance and straw colored; Pretty good lacing left behind

S - Though not a lager, the refreshing aroma reminded me of one with wheat and grain-like notes; I also smell a bit of Hallertau-like spice as well

T - Light amount of herbal and spicy Hallertau hops with hints of lemon-like citrus fruit and a bit of cracked wheat

M - Plenty of carbonation; Light bodied; Crisp and fairly dry finish

O - Overall, I enjoyed having this crisp, refreshing beer that paired nicely with the fish sandwich lunch special. As light and easy-drinking as this beer is, I could certainly have had a few more while enjoying my time at Blue Mountain Brewery at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains.
