Notes:
Oasis is a Double ESB/IPAish beer that came about from playing around with one of Jeff’s favorite homebrew recipes. Here at Tallgrass we love malt and we love hops, and this beer has both of them in record quantities; well, at least records for our baby brewery.
At a hefty 7.2% ABV and 93 IBU, Oasis is a big beer that has to be priced a bit higher than our regular line of beers. We think that once you taste the over-the-top hops and surprisingly sturdy malt backbone you will realize why it’s worth it.
Definitely not a fruit-extract seasonal shandy, this beer is meant to be enjoyed on the back porch, the front porch, or even on the stoop. What's a stoop? Well, it's a good place to drink beer, is what it is.

Review from BeerAdvocate Magazine Issue #54 (July 2011):
Double ESB? Some traditionalists would poo-poo that idea, but we’ll boo right back at them! Tallboy, good choice. Epic lacing on top of a hazy, dark amber color. Grainy, toasty, vegetal, grassy, spicy, fruity, earthy and herbal aroma. Crisp thick body. Malt, alcohol and hops are titans in their own way here. Toasted malt of dried grass and biscuits; hops become resin- like with tobacco and citric flavors, and the alcohol drops some ripe fruit and warmth on the palate. All around amped-up flavors, but balanced and nuanced. Bittersweet finish. Call it what you want ... this is a damn good beer.

Wow!
This was not what you expect from an Imperial IPA, but then again it is a cross breed
Appearance: Amber to light brown
Smell: hemp, hop, pine, and mineral
Taste: hemp, hop, pine, with a hop/mineral finish!
Mouthfeel: Thick, typical for the style.
Overall, this is a good beer. I'd try it from the bottle.

16 oz. can purchased in the greater Washington D.C. area, unknown birthdate, poured into a Weyerbacher tulip glass, drank 4/26/13 over two hours.
A: 2.75 - murky brownish coloration, minimal clarity (can't see or read through), frothy white one finger head dissipates into subtle glass lacing, moderate-to-large alcohol legs that reagitates the carbonation; overall below average for an imperial IPA
S: 2.5 - really herbal and spicy (likely 2/2 British hops for finishing and/or dry hopping), small amount of pear and stone fruit when really putting your nose into the glass
T: 2.5 - on the front of the tongue, there's a mild bitterness that dissipates as the herbal and spicy aspects appear on the back of the tongue; to me, this tastes much more like an ESB than an American imperial IPA
M: 3 - moderate body, boozy and sticky; moderate-to-high carbonation
O: 2.75 - as I was considering purchasing a single can in the greater Washington D.C. area, I read impressive reviews including a BA score of 90, so I had some moderate-to-high expectations going into drinking, and, unfortunately, this beer really disappointed me; overall, it's an amateurish offering and, to be honest, I have had many homebrewed imperial IPAs that just blow this totally out of the water; it's a British-style IPA-cum-ESB that advertises itself as a hoppy American imperial IPA; I'm hoping that I just purchased an aged bottle , but I won't be purchasing this one again
