Notes:
Our third beer, Tallgrass IPA, is an India Pale Ale that is rich, complex, and flavorful. We are proud to be the first brewery here in the Great Plains to have the first brewed, cans, and draft IPA out on the market!
Tallgrass IPA originally came to life as a creation during Jeff’s early homebrewing days (batch Numero Uno), and it was consumed in short order by his friends who came over to cook out and help with the next batch. After some modifications over the years (because nobody’s rookie homebrew batch tastes all that great, but your friends will tell you it does) the recipe was dialed in to become what is now Tallgrass IPA. We love this beer and think you will too!

Appearance: No haziness but a little too dark to be translucent. Soapy white head. Like the amber/copper color in an IPA. Great lacing.
Aroma: Big hop presence. Lots of citrus and grapefruit. A little bit of pine or resin as well. Not getting too much malt.
Taste: Starts out smooth and then kicks your tongue with some bitterness. Finishes smooth and bitter. TallGrass says this is an IPA with lots of hops and good malt presence and I definitely agree with that. Although there is only a hint malt in the nose, it makes up for that in the taste. The grain almost has a roasty quality that you don't get in the usual American IPA. That roastyness teases your palate a little before coming in stronger in the finish. Really good example of a perfect harmony between hops and malt. Both make themselves present in all the right ways.
Mouthfeel: Good all around. The right level of carbonation, medium bodied, and very drinkable.
Final Thoughts: I had this beer about six months ago and liked it but didn't ever buy it again. I'm really glad I picked this one up randomly today. A really good IPA that treads many lines within the style. It could probably please lovers of English IPA's and of American IPA's.

First and foremost, with the name IPA, i'm expecting some sort of a HOP BOMB. However, history dictates original IPAs were not like this.
This is a classic styled IPA, something that would have been on the ship going to India itself.
Upfront bitterness that drug out over a very nice malty palette.
I kept getting some sort of lemony/leathery/coppery type flavors... certainly was interesting.
The only thing that turned me off from this beer is a "dirt" type flavor that i associate with some other breweries as well (New Belgium is a main culprit). People love both breweries, and they make great beer, it's just a flavor i pick up in their beer... maybe a close strain of yeast they use? hard to say.
As i cannot get this where i live, i wouldn't be able to get it again anytime soon. With that being said, i do not think i would get it again anyways unless i wanted to show someone a classic style of brittish IPA without going the expensive meantime breweries version.

ST: Can poured into a glass
A: Clearer golden look. Thick head after pour.
S: Light aromas of citrus and fruitiness. Definitely get a hop aroma
T: Light taste with a hint of fruit. Some citrus, but not a lot.
MF: At first you get some of the malt instantly, but then the hops take over and having a nice dry finish making you want more.
O: Decent solid beer to have. When it comes to IPAs, I would say that this is a 'lighter' IPA compared to others.
