Inky back with a small, tan head. Poor head retention.

Bloody sweet and dripping with honey. Malt and berries follow. Treacle.

Sweet malt and fruit. Slightly bitter but there is a LOT of treacle here. Massively over-caramelised sugar.

Full body with moderately-high carbonation. Okay.

An interesting beer. The fruit and honey are nice but overpowering. Epically sweet and sticky. I'm not convinced.

Black, black, black color, not a dim of light can go through. Made no head.
Complex aroma of caramels, cherry, cognac, raspberry and grapes. And of course some booze given its low 17.1% ABV content.
Sweet toasted malty taste with coffee and Jerez notes. Aftertaste is sweet and dry with a warming (and booze as well) feeling.
Medium and oily body with light carbonation and small bubbles.
Hoppy background, but also reminded me of a Barley Wine. Although a bit hard to drink the whole 375ml bottle, unless you want to get wasted (I had my share earlier...), it had a nice complex taste.

Thanks to Benny for sharing this one at his tasting.

Bottled 2/4/12. Bottle # 1743/5754.

Pours an opaque black with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa, and a really boozy alcohol aroma. Taste is much the same with a very hot alcohol burn in the throat with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer but it’s really boozy.

A-deep ruby. light brown head. minimal lace. still. a real deep crimson tint. not quite black, but right there.
S-caramel. raspberry. baker's chocolate. whipped vanilla cream. extremely astrigent, near rubbing alcohol territory. hot, hot, heat.
T-burnt prune, toasted pecan, SOOO HOT. burnt nuts, charred nuts. if cherries were soaked in rum and lit on fire.
M-thin, harsh. numbing. so hot it dissolves into spirit-like territory.
O-hot. maybe lay it down a bit. smells intense, tastes beyond intense. apple brandy esq. WHEWWW.
cheers.
