Pours amber with a lasting head.
Nose shows juicy tropical fruit and confectionery, very sweet smelling. Lots of lychee, papaya and mango. Also some sweet clean malt.
Similar flavours. Lots of sweet confectionery-like fruit and sweet crystal malt.
Body feels a bit syrupy and thick.

The colour is gold with a tint of brown, the liquid is clear. The finger thick head is off-white and compact. It leaves some lacing.

The smell got somewhat raw notes of citric fruits and hay. Hints of apricots and meats. Fine bitter flavours, but also some pulp.

The taste is oily with a fine clean bitterness. Flowery and American citric flavours Hints of raw meats and perfume. The aftertaste got some alcohol and orange squash. Nice bitter flavours in the finish.

The carbonation is smooth, the many bubbles small. The liquid is smooth.

I experienced this one as a bit raw and unpolished. I reviewed it together with the three other IPA Is Dead ales, and this one was the most bitter one.

Pours a orange hazy hue which leaves a two finger creamy head and lacing all around the place, the smell is pineapple, mango, paw paw and lychee very tropical indeed, the mouthfeel is just under medium bodied and has tastes of pineapple, mango, aniseed, boiled candy, rhubarb and finished with a mix of piney hop bitterness and sweet mandarins, overall apart from the light mouthfeel it really is a great example of our Australian Hop as we dont see too many good showcases of it apart from in Nail Ale and its better than Bridge Roads single hop too also good to see that this hop has more than one gear after knowing that its used for bittering VB which also scares me cheers.

BB 03/13 from Slowbeer

Pours a clear gold. Two finger head of large bubbles, off white. Spotty lacing.

Aromas of grapefruit, pineapple, peach and pine.

Taste is dry, somewhat hollow mid palate and less appealing by yards than the nose. Astringency kicks in quickly. Grapefruit and pine in the mix still but cannot compete against the sharpness.

Mouthfeel OK - medium bodied, medium carbonation.

A bit of a one-dimensional beer. Malt would be a good balance. I know it is supposed to be one-dimensional, it just isn't a very good dimension :-(

The beer is almost clear amber, small bubbles, an off-white head with some lacing, but rather good curtains.

The smell is citric, grape-fruit and pine, resin, and of grass.

The taste is rather sweet, toffee and bread, then loads of grape-fruit, passion fruit and pine soap.

Medium low carbonation, soft and oily, a good body, a slow dry finish.

A very "american" west coast single hop style, very much action.

Tihs is one of four I'm reviewing from the second 4-pack single hop AIPAs called IPA is dead. I'm gonig to review them side by side.

A: Pours copper without bubbles. The medium large tan head is quite compact and leaves nice lacings.

S: Sweet caramell malt with lots of floral and also some bitter hops (in this case Challenger). Grass and pineapple.

T: Sweet caramell malts, rich bitter hops and pineapple and freshly cut grass.

M: Aftertaste lingers with nice bitterness. Body is medium to full while carbonation is moderate.

O: A nice AIPA. The Single hopping makes it less complex.

330ml bottle. ½ Pint glass. Enjoyed on may´12. Pale golden in color. Yellowish white, medium size bubbled, froth. Rocky, persistent, crown. Tropical fruits, resins & pine to the nose. Smooth but lasting bitterness. Suntuous palate with tangerine hints. Mildy maltiness perfectly balances hoppiness. Medium body, soft carbonation. Pine & resins into the finish & aftertaste. Delightful, refreshing & easy drinkable. May I have a gallon glass, please?

Copper like orange with a decent off white head that dwindles down to a good film and leaves some nice lacing.

Strong pineapple and grassy hops in the smell, not much else either. Some slight earthy notes but that's it.

Tropical fruit, mainly pineapple and maybe a little mango, some grassy notes and a very astringent bitterness. The taste is even less complex than the smell.

Medium body and a decent amount of carbonation.

After the excellent HBC, this IPA Is Dead brew is rather dissapointing. It's too astringent and lacks complexity. Galaxy: Not a good hop for this trick.

Clear golden colour with a small, short lasted, off-white head. Fair head retention.

Intense grassy Galaxy hop aroma with plenty of pineapple and stonefruit. This is classic Galaxy.

Lots of harsh, astringent bitterness with a good tropical fruit note coming through underneath it all. Disappointingly astringent in typical Galaxy fashion.

Medium body with moderate carbonation. Dominated by massive astringency.

This isn't doing it for me. The astringency is way over the top and the overall impression just doesn't cut it.
