A dark mahogany brown. Hazy. No real head.
Lots of oak. Toffee and dried fruits. Nice raisin notes. Coconut. Bits of caramel. Interesting.
As in the aroma there is a big, malty Wee Heavy here that is dominated by lots of caramelly, coconutty oak. Some earthy notes and a touch of citrus.
Medium body with a moderately-high carbonation. A little overcarbonated for me.
A solid beer if you like your oak. I find it a bit unbalanced but it works in an odd way.

A: Pours dark brown with a small tan head and no lacings.
S: Oaky; vanilla sweetness. Vineous. Dark dried fruits. Some bitterness.
T: Malt is quite strong, sweet and buttery. Bitterness. Oak is milder and the vanilla gets overpowered by the malty sweetness. Still rather vineous and rich in dark dried fruits.
M: Long bitter aftertaste, kind of harsh. Body is full and carbonation is non-excisting.
O: Nice, but the nose wasn't followed by taste - kind of dissapointing actually.

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Bottled 9/22/11. Bottle number 4274 of 4400.
Appearance - Dark brown. Very few bubbles. Mostly lifeless.
Smell - Really nice barrel notes. Vanilla. Solid scotch ale aroma behind it, though. Touch of whiskey. Maybe even some fruit.
Taste - Buttery malt, but immediately bitter. The barrel isn't as present in the initial flavors. Whiskey comes in later with a vengeance. Astringent finish. I'd even call it abrasive.
Mouythfeel - Rough finish that ruins it. Bitter and astringent. Low carbonation.
Overall - Wonderful aroma with an unforgivable finish. Not as boozy as I expected, I suppose.

Thanks to crusianbeer for bringing this beer back from the UK.
The beer pours a very dark brown color with an off-white head. The aroma is full of chocolate and oak, with some peat malt thrown in. The flavor is more complex and better that the aroma in my opinion. I get a lot of peat and cherries, as well as some roasted malt, chocolate and alcohol. Thick mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

The beer is hazy dark brown, has a tan small head that leaves no lacing. Good curtains.
The smell is vinous and yeasty, sweet dried fruits. Raisins and sherry.
Tastes sweet of brown sugar, sherry and Port, then a rather sharp cherry seed bitterness.
No carbonation, oily but yet a coarse and dry finish.
As the abstrakt's are experiments they are sometimes less well of. This one might be better after a few year's when the sharp bitterness migh have waned.

Served in a snifter.
Bottle 3451/4400, bottled 9/22/11. Described as a whiskey cask-aged imperial Scotch ale. Right on. It pours a clear dark garnet topped by a small bit of off-tan foam. The nose comprises caramel, light cocoa, whiskey, light oak, light vanilla, and butterscotch. The taste follows pretty closely, with the caramel and whiskey taking center stage, and with some light cola coming in as well. For once, that piece doesn't seem too out of place. Good stuff. The body is a stolid medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a generally smooth feel. Overall, this was surprisingly well-done, with the whiskey cask coming in strongly but not overwhelmingly (BrewDog has had a tendency to overdo things in the past, and this is a refreshing change of pace). Good times.
