Clear amber with copper highlights. Big dense creamy tan head. Good Retention. Chunky clouds of lace.

Spicy floral, pine, pepper, resins. Toasty rich caramel.

Hop tingling goodness. Spicy floral resins, pine sap, and herbal peppery flavors. Rich sweet toasty caramel. Big resinous bitter punch to the tongue.

Rich, sticky, drying, coating. med+ body. perfectly carbonated.

Yum. A hoppy sessionable red. Wish it wasnt so damn expensive. I would have this all the time.

A: Medium dark amber, slight haze. Slight OK.

S: Caramel, tea, coffee, citrus. Not groundbreaking but pleasant. Zero skunk.

T: Burnt toast, smoked sausage, tea/tannin style hops. Very interesting and pleasant, the taste is what makes this beer very worthwhile.

M: Slightly too rough and raw. Medium to strong carbonation. There is no unpleasant aftertaste. Average.

O: Expensive but a far above average beer. Have it at least once and see what you think.

12 oz. served into a SA perfect pint glass.

A - Slightly hazy amber with a 1 finger lightly tan head. Some lacing left

S - Toasted bread, caramel malt, golden biscuit crust, honey, bold bready yeast.

T - Slightly toasted caramel malt, golden biscuit crust. Honey rounds it off with a kiss of sweetness. Bright stone fruit, mint, sweet citrus, and some pineapple.

M - Full lush body with creamy carbonation.

One of the better amber ales I've had. Hits all the marks with flying colors for the style. Yeast is strong but balanced. Excellent malt backbone with a variety of synergized flavors to keep it exciting. I would seek this out for sure.

12 oz bottle poured into a Sam Adams glass. Acceptable head and lacing - pours a deep amber. Aroma is citrus pine hops with soap and meat. Really bold malty citrus hop combination - especially considering this is only 5%. A bit of an odd raw meat flavor in the background. Finish very dry, medium mouthfeel. Overall this is quite good for a European made US style amber in the same hoppy vein as Red Rocket Ale or Hop Head Red.

Appearance is medium brown with a slight hint of red. Very clear
Two finger head with nice retention and lacing.

The smell is very strong. In the bottle, it was too strong, but in the glass it was better. Lots of hops and some pine hints as well

The taste is just too hoppy. The pine doesn't carry through very well. Nevermind. Yes it does

The mouthfeel is like nothing. Very plain.

Thrown with (almost) abandon into an old pint pot making a ruby red body with a big head that subdued but kept in the glass.

Aroma thrown up of grapefruit, blood orange, cherries and freshly cut grass.

The taste is so, bitter fruits and sour tones creating almost a sweet and sour sensation then hoppy snaps goes the aftertaste.
I like bold brash big tastes but this was getting almost too much for me.

Very lively carbonation paired against a good mouthfeel leaves me with pondering.

Give it a go, you never know you might like it
but for me the jury is pretty much still out.

Bottle from Edinburgh a friend brought.

A - Pours a ruby red colour with good carbonation. Bright. Two finger fluffy light brown head. Good full finger retention with a chunk of lace.

S - Bready, strong hop profile with citrus, soapy.

T - Bready, toffee, good hops with citrus and peach.

M - Nice carbonation, medium body, and a nice bitterness.

O/D - A solid amber ale. Aggressively hopped doesn't always mean good, but this is tasty. I could session this. Calming down on the the hop profile would show off the malt alot more, but it works.

A: poured a reddish brown in color with yellow highlights and a thin head that left a little frothy lacing sticking to the glass.

S: lots of sweetness from the malts were very noticeable with citrus piney hop notes and a hint of caramel.

T: had a very mild hop bite alongside caramel, citrus, and nuttiness but with plenty of malty sweetness.

M: the brew was medium in body with a fair amount of carbonation which had piney, mild hopppy, and sweet finish.

D: this beer was very drinkable and a nice amber if your into the style.

A - Pours a slightly hazy copper-red color with a finger of frothy off-white head atop. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing.

S - Aroma is full of sweet toasted caramel malts and lots of piney/earthy hops. Bit of citrus mixed in there as well.

T - Starts off with some huge piney hops with some strong bitterness. Bit of toasted sweet caramel malts as well. Through the middle, some more bitterness comes through with a bit of bready malt character. The finish is a mix of piney bitterness and some light citrus that ligners.

M - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a strong pine resin feeling left on the tongue. Quite dry as well.

D - Very drinkable. Fairly bold flavors for the 5% abv. The bitterness and hop flavor is nicely balanced by the malt though.

dark amber with a nice one inch off white head and a good amount of lace. Nice retention on the head as well. Smell was deeply hopped, with a nice pine resin aroma and a hint of light grain. My first impression was a bit light in the carbonation, and a slight slickness or oilyness to it. Big hop profile was very nicely balanced against the malted grain back. Overall this was an easily sessionable and highly enjoyable brew

Had from a bottle. Poured an amber color with a bit of haziness to it. Nice, large head that retained well and left a good bit of lacing. Aroma is that of sweet malts and earthy hops. Well-balanced, but certainly not complex. Taste is slightly bitter, with a sweeter finish. Smooth, but overall pretty bland. I actually tasted a hint of caramel, which may have just been from the malty flavors. Piney.

Mouthfeel is light to medium with moderate carbonation. A good beer, but nothing special. I probably wouldn't have it again, but it's worth trying once.

Drank from my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a slightly hazy Red Amber colour with a nice two fingerd off White head that retains well.

S - Mostly piney hops and a little malt background.

T - Up front some nice bitterness. The hop is a littele faded with the finish being a little bitter. Lacks the real substance expected from the aroma.

M - A little watery, light to medium body with medium carbonation.

O - A solid sessionable beer.

Bottle: Poured a clear amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt notes with some light floral citrus notes. Taste is a well balanced mix between some light caramel malt notes with some notes of light citrus hops. Body is about average with good carbonation. Not bad but more bland then what I was expecting considering the brewer isn’t the most conventional one.

Bottle was a gusher. Poured with a nice 2 finger head that subsided in a couple of minutes. The color is a darkish red, that is slightly cloudy. Smells of hops and caramel malts, however not overpowering, I would describe it as "lightly scented." The taste is a well balanced hoppy malty flavor characteristic. Has a medium effervescence. The finish is clean with a light hop aroma. Overall a good but not complex example of the amber style. The lowish abv makes this an acceptable session beer as well. While somewhat praiseworthy as an american amber, the price associated with this beer in the states is worth a once off try, but there are better and more inexpensive examples out there.

Purchased at Great Grog in Edinburgh, UK in a 33cL bottle, poured into a pint glass.

A: A deep, robust ruby color with a tan, 1 finger head. Head dissipates pretty quickly, leaving a thin layer coating the top.

S: Hops and citrus.

T: Tastes very similar to how it smells. Hops are the most prominent flavor, with a bit of citrus in there as well. There's a little sweetness in the aftertaste.

M: Watery, not overly carbonated

Overall, this is a decent beer, nothing spectacular however. I will admit it went pretty nicely with a burger, but when sipped on it's own it's not as great.

A - A huge soapy head crowns a dark amber coloured body. Clear. Minimal spits of lace.

S - Hops up front, grapefruit and pine. Caramel malt pokes through as it warms.

T - Sweet malt, caramel and toffee, then citrusy hops finish with a mild bitterness.

M - Highly carbonated, yet smooth moderate body.

O - A well balanced session beer. Better options around for the same price though.

Pours a nice amber color with a huuuge head. Took forever for the head to die down. Smell is mediocre, not much there that stands out. The taste is fairly weak, with a bitter, almost sour taste at the end. Dont really know what I think of this beer. I thought I was getting something new and exciting, being the first beer from Brew Dog that i've found here in NM, but it just turned out kind of meh.

Pours a nice dark orange color with a giant head (this bottle is being drank after the best before date, but only by a few months) Head takes forever to die down. Oddly for an amber beer i'm getting lots of oily hop scents and also some roasted malt scents.

Taste is strange, i'm having some trouble with it, definitely not what I expected. theres really not much flavor up front, just a tiny bit of unidentifiable malt, and then it ends with some soapy hops. It's very strange for an amber ale, smooth and light body, highly carbonated, almost no malt and some hops.

Not much here really, maybe cause it's a bit too old? idk

Not a huge fan though

12oz bottle poured into a snifter. Got this in jmarsh123's Music LIF. Big thanks! My first beer from BrewDog.

A: Dark amber color, with nice bright highlights when held to the light. An immeasurable head since it kept growing out of the glass and I was unable to pour the whole bottle in at once. Super rocky with a slightly yellow tint to it. Takes forever to die down. Super sticky lacing.

S: Caramel and toffee malts. Slight citrus hops, with light grapefruit, and very slight hints of apricot and pineapple. Slightly funky with a touch of alcohol coming through.

T: Bready malts and toffee. Huge grassy notes through out. A sour bitter citrus flavor from middle to finish and lingering in the aftertaste. Like chewing on wet grass.

M: Medium bodied with higher carbonation. Pretty sticky.

O: Not a fan of the huge grass profile of this one. I can get that from the bag on my lawnmower. Not bad flavors, just not for me.

12 oz (or possibly 330 mL) bottle tried 5 Oct 2010. Batch #185. Courtesy of L&D, thanks! Served in the (512) Two glass.

Large thick orangey brown head. Well carbonated. Clear mahogany/cedar color. Quite fragrant, resiny and toffeeish. Starts with some moderate bitterness. Earthy resin quickly overtakes it and dominates. Medium body, ethanol is somewhat warming for 5%. Finishes a bit sweeter with buttery toffee notes. Lingering mild bitter aftertaste.

Seems like somewhere inbetween a pale ale and an amber.

I didn't pour this aggressively, but I was left with a five-inch foamy head that eventually faded into a one-inch head. The smell was strong, with pear notes followed by the stronger-than-expected aroma of hops.

The taste was...interesting. It begins with a typical fruity ale taste (I'll stick with pear as a description) before the grassy, grapefruit-y hops take over. It's quite hoppy for the style.

This is a good beer, but I'm probably not completing giving its due just because I was expecting/hoping for something maltier. I probably wouldn't session this one.

Malty and grapefruite hoppy in the taste...mild yeast flavour in the backround.

Mouthfeel is solid for the abv
