Appears pitch black absolutely absorbs all light, beige tan head forms nice and thick after a vigorous pour. Lacing is like a silk screen over the sides of one of my standard go to Dollar General tulip chalices.
Aromatics offer up dark roasts mild tartness from some fruity notes like cherries, and a touch of lactic creaminess going on. Dark roasted malts give up a touch of black licorice and mild coffee/cocoa notes.
Flavor dark bitter roasts mild herbal notes a touch of tobacco as well. Espresso strong coffee flavor with dark chocolate blended in. Soothing alcohol burn with each sip, it doesn't overpower the flavors but rather it adds to the experience.
Mouthfeel is velvet smooth mild carbonation it doesn't get much better than this medium to fuller bodied, it really coats the palate. Definitely a pleasant experience. I've been sitting on this one for awhile, I've actually enjoyed all of the Brewdog beers I've tasted thus far..
Drinkability was solid all around alot of fruity phenols going on but overall it's a nice Scottish stout, alcohol was well hidden I will revisit this brew again in the future.

L: Jet black color, quarter finger brown head, messy lacing, good carbonation.
S: Chocolate, coffee.
T: Coffee, chocolate, slight roastiness. Bitter on the back end.
F: Medium bodied, more carbonated than I would prefer.
O: Nothing special.

Interesting appearance, dark brown, dark red colors to the edge. Not a lot of carbonation to form a head with, whispy and thin tan colored. Has a nutty and chocolate malt aroma.
Taste goes equal parts roasted black malts, but also brown malt and a nuttiness you see from other styles than an imperial stout. It is very smooth, not aggressively hopped kind of stout.
Its not a bad beer, those who want more ooomph in their Guinness kind of stouts might be into this.

Great flavor and nicely balanced for a less boozy 8% Imperial Stout.
