On tap in a shaker pint. See-thru amber with a delicate eggshell head. Light patches of spiderweb lacing are scattered about.
Not really picking up much in the way of rye aromas. If this were classified as a rye beer, it'd get docked a few points here, but as a DIPA, pretty good. Citrus and floral notes aplenty, modestly malty. Rye flavor is somewhat lacking as well, although I can pick it out without having to think about it too hard. Again, though, DIPA, so I'm not sweating it too much. Nice blast of citrus and bitterness, but the sweet and thickish body is a little east coastish for my liking. A jolt of carbonation might help move things along. Not bad at all, but considering what the source is capable of doing with IPAs, rather disappointing.

A - nice solid gold, minimal head appropriate for the ABV, and some sticky lace
S - much more subtle than expected, bright citrus and floral notes with very faint rye graininess.
T - Light spice, nice rye undertone, pine sap and lift citrus. Clean and tasty.
M - great prickly carbonation and medium feel, lighter than expected.
O - a very enjoyable brew with subtle nuance...some wonderful restraint used by the brewers here where it could I've easily been overblown. Very nice.
