From notes. Just $4.25 for a pint at the PDX airport! What a pleasant welcome. Pours black, thick tan head stays a while, leaves lacing. Hint of ruby. SMELL chocolate, roasty, hint of sweetness. TASTE roasted barley, chocolate, and malty sweetness blend and are backed by a modest hop bitterness. Nice. FEEL creamy, light side of medium body, clean finish. Tasty, smooth, not too big. way easy drinking, poundable brew.

Appearance- Black with dark red highlights around the edges. Tan head that ends in a ring around the edge of the glass. Almost no lacing.
Smell- Dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. A hint of vanilla is there as well.
Taste- Alcohol is first even though this is only a 5.6% abv beer. Chocolate, and some piney hops in the end. There is an astringent-like taste but it is not unpleasant or off putting at all. It ends quite creamy.
Mouthfeel- Good mouthfeel for a porter. It is true to style.
Overall- Good porter. I have always liked this beer. I don't drink it often enough.

First had: on tap at Laurelwood Public House, Portland, OR
Poured brown-black with a small tan head that retained fairly well and left some soapy lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma, dark malts and a bit of coffee. More roast on the tongue, mildly earthy; very smooth, but actually not very flavorful. Meduim-bodied and moderately drinkable. I think my homebrewed porter was much better. heh

Very dark black with some brown highlights. Small, creamy tan head with decent head retention.
Bitter roast aroma with some earthiness. Good.
Sharp roasty malt with a bit of earthy character. The roast is a little too sharp for my liking.
Medium light body with moderate carbonation. A bit light.
A decent but unexceptional porter. There’s fair flavour but it’s a touch thin for my liking.
