Poured out of a bomber from By The Bottle in Vancouver, WA.
Pours a rich golden color, with a caramel tinge. 1" tan head with an aggressive pour.
Strong smell of citrusy hops, with pine and a slight fruitiness. Hint of maltiness as well.
Taste follows smell, with immediate flavors of citrus and pine hops. There's a hint of malt, but not enough to offset the obvious bitterness.
Smooth mouthfeel, with just the right amount of dryness.
Overall a solid IPA, with strong hops that never overstay their welcome. Good take on the style, if not that original. Still something any good hop head should enjoy.

Part of my CanBIF 2013 haul. Thanks Boozecamel!
Poured from a bomber, no freshness info.
Appearance: Dark honey colored body, fluffy thick head, rocky topping and strong standing.
Smell: Floral, sweet hops, raw with some delicate fruit and peaches.
Taste: Sweet fruit, sticky, spicy notes, grassy a little, real plush.
Mouthfeel: Very well balanced, slight edge to the malt over the hops though there are glimmers of bitterness. Clean finish.
Overall: Not an intense hoppy one but the flavor grew on me and liked it quite a bit.

Picked up a fresh bottle of this from the whole foods in downtown Seattle on a trip. Been meaning to try this beer for a while, and almost traded for it a while back. Honestly, I'm glad I didn't because I find that in the seriously saturated category of American ipas, this is very middle of the road.
Pours a nice hearty orange color with great head and retention. The nose is very average to poor: it has some bready malts and I struggle to find too much hoppiness, but it's there in the form of bitter grass notes if i literally get my nose all the way in the glass. The taste seems sort of like that ipa you would try at a local brewpub that is just a touch better than average: not too hoppy, but bitter enough, and malty in a very grainy way. Some orange rind or zest. Not too memorable at all unfortunately.
I was hoping this would be great, and I went into tasting it thinking it would be great and that might have tainted my review here, but overall I don't think this is really worth going out of your way for.

There is much to like about this IPA. It has a very nice hop nose and the hop flavors on the tongue are distinct. However, it was not as well balanced as I prefer. Also, I didn't think it had anything about it that was unique. It is a solid, hoppy IPA that will please most.
