Poured from a 12-ounce bottle into a Long Trail pint glass.

A: Poured a medium-copper, amber color with brownish highlights and a bubbly head of carbonation which faded to a thin, patchy ring an left no lace. Carbonation is weak within the brew but lively near the surface.

S: Smells of sweetened wheat bread malts, a bit of toffee and nuts with some light corn husk thrown in.

T: Flavor is a slightly watery caramel malt at first, with hints of almond and hazelnut. A slightly fruity and herbal mid palate gives way to some sweeter malts and dextrose adjunct. The finish is slightly drying and has a bit of nutty, lingering aftertaste.

M: Mouthfeel is light-medium bodied with some cloying around mid-palate and a fairly clean finish.

D: A session brew for the generic ale or lighter brown ale fan. The 5% ABV goes over as a standard for such activity, but adds to this brews mediocrity, IMO. Sort of like a Newcastle and Long Trail ale combined into one. tried to get cute with the branding on this one, but it's just dressing up an average ale.

Stopped by the publick house for a bite and to pick up some IRS bottles. Ordered a flight with bratwurst. Brew arrivedin a few ounce sample pour. Copper color. Fairly malt forward with a soft hop. German crystalized malts. Nice easy drinker nothing mind blowing. Good altbier.
